Colton plays the game with fierce energy and an explosive skill set that’s tough to contain. A floor general who brings elite control, dynamic scoring, and high-IQ facilitation to the court. His handle are smooth and confident, allowing him to break down defenses with patience or burst past them with power. What separates Colton is his ability to read the floor like a veteran: constantly guiding teammates, manipulating space, and keeping the offense flowing with control and tempo.
Colton thrives in a system that gives him room to operate, but he doesn’t just facilitate, he strikes. With an aggressive mindset and an ever-expanding offensive bag, Colton puts pressure on defenders by getting downhill, attacking the paint with physicality, and finishing with touch. But it doesn’t stop there but can also hurt you from deep. Shooting a lights-out 55% from the field and 40% from three this past high school season, he’s shown he can score at all three levels with consistency. He’s not just getting open looks. he’s converting them at a rate that forces coaches to game-plan around him.
What’s most impressive is how much his confidence has grown. A season ago, he was hesitant to hunt his own shot. This year, that hesitation is gone. He’s playing with freedom, fire, and the belief that he belongs. His 7.55 points per game, 4.6 rebounds, and 2.4 assists only scratch the surface of his impact while his presence makes his team better, his energy lifts the gym, and his mindset has turned him into a player capable of taking over when it counts.
Colton’s game reached another level on the AAU circuit, where he’s been a force for Utah Hard Knox. Against top-tier competition on the Adidas 3SGB platform, he exploded for 19 points per game That's a huge jump that shows what he can do in space and tempo. As he prepares for another season of national exposure, his goals are clear: 19+ points, 5 assists, and leadership that drives his squad deep into the RecruitLook tournament in Chicago this July. His commitment to full effort, being a great teammate, and maximizing every rep makes him a coach’s dream heading into the heart of AAU season.
But Colton isn’t satisfied with his talent level but is grinding hard, chasing growth with a purpose. This offseason, he’s focused on developing a more consistent off-the-dribble three, the one shot that could open up the rest of his already lethal game. He’s also working on foot speed, especially on the defensive end and in transition, where quicker reactions and lateral movement will make him even more difficult to contain. He understands that the difference between good and great lies in the details, and he’s attacking every weakness with the same intensity he brings on game day.
Colton plays with a deeper fire, one that burns beyond the scoreboard. Every time he steps on the court, he carries the calm, collected strength of his mother, whose memory drives him to compete with heart and focus. That inner strength shows most when adversity strikes. Rather than fold, Colton leans on his work ethic, reminding himself of every hour spent in the gym and every rep he’s earned. It’s a mindset few players his age possess — grounded, mature, and relentlessly motivated.
The best coaching advice that stuck with Colton is, “Don’t compare yourself to other athletes. It’s a YOU vs YOU battle.” That mentality is the foundation of Colton’s rise. He’s not chasing another player, building himself, brick by brick, and the results are starting to show.
I assess that Colton is the type of guard who can slot into multiple roles, though he is a primary ball handler, secondary scorer, and combo guard who elevates the group around him. He’s efficient, unselfish, and explosive, with a mature approach to the game and a hunger to keep growing. His shooting percentages alone demand attention, but when paired with his feel, effort, and leadership, he becomes the kind of player who can shift the energy of a roster.
As his body fills out and his shot creation expands, Colton projects as a guard who can make a real impact at the next level. He’s already producing against high-level competition and continues to trend upward in every phase of the game. He’ll be a name to watch this summer, especially as he steps into the spotlight at RecruitLook Chicago.
The combination of confidence, composure, and killer instinct doesn’t come around often but when it does, it looks a lot like this. Expect bigger numbers, bigger moments, and a player built to thrive on the biggest stages. Stay tuned.
