James brings a composed, team-first approach to the court, backed by high-level court vision, defensive IQ, and a knack for making the right play. As a true floor general, he thrives on setting the tempo, reading passing lanes, and keeping the ball moving. He can quietly control a game without needing to dominate the stat sheet. Whether it’s finding the open teammate, pushing the pace, or locking up on defense, James plays with a steady presence that coaches trust. His defensive instincts and communication make him one of the smartest defenders on the floor, and he takes pride in making others around him better.

This past season, he averaged 10.2 points, 5 rebounds, 4.4 assists, and 3 steals per game, earning First Team All-League honors while helping lead his team to a State appearance. His biggest improvement came in man-to-man defense, where he became a reliable stopper against opposing guards. This summer, he kept building on that base, focusing on getting downhill, cutting down turnovers, increasing his foot speed, and pushing the ball more consistently in transition. Every area he targeted saw improvement, and it’s helped elevate his ability to play under pressure while keeping the game flowing.

James describes himself as a defensive and playmaking point guard who isn’t afraid to attack the basket when needed. He’s working hard to develop more consistent scoring and limit unforced turnovers, but what separates him now is his selflessness, coachability, and basketball awareness. A coach can count on James to give honest effort, stay focused, and put his team in a position to succeed, whether that means making the extra pass or diving on the floor for a loose ball.

His ultimate goal is to win a state championship, and he’s driven by moments that swing the momentum: a big defensive stop, a clutch three, or a team run that forces a timeout. When facing adversity, he keeps his eyes forward and stays composed, often turning defense into opportunity. He plays with heart, joy, and a deep respect for the game, reminding himself that “comparison is the thief of joy” and that his path is his own to embrace.

Off the court, James enjoys time with his family, hanging out with friends, and getting into video games. But make no mistake, he’s fully committed to playing at the next level and proving he belongs.

I assess that James is a high-IQ guard who brings defense, distribution, and leadership to any system. His understanding of spacing, timing, and team dynamics makes him a reliable presence who helps elevate the play of those around him.

As he continues to fine-tune his scoring and handle, James is positioning himself for a strong senior season. Expect him to be a steady force for his team, a guard who can be trusted to make the right decisions, lead with maturity, and compete with purpose. Stay tuned for a breakout season ahead as he leads his team on one last championship quest.
