Updated: Jan 17

Maia Berdebes @maiabeedbes , 5'6 , 155 , , c/o 25 fromS. Baker High School, Fl is a dual threat sniper. . She was a lethal catch a shoot  dynamo. If you have to run at Maia it is already too late, bucket made. . Fearless off the bounce and a crafty finisher at the rim.  Maia is always calm and poised. Confident in her skill set Maia is always  relaxed , even at full speed. Maia loves high octane fast paced yet never loses control or her ability to fuel the offense effectively. . After playing so long and working so hard on her game she developed a high IQ and knows when to change the pace of the game and use that ability as an advantage with her great court vision  to change tempo at will for her team with the necessary awareness to make game winning plays consistently. Maia texcels  at making nice passes and creating open shot opportunities for her teammates. Maia doesn't mind mixing it up on the boards either. . And Maia is an outstanding defender and turns defense into offese quickly giving her team quick and easy scoring opportunities.

Last season Maia averaged 11.9 points , 5.9 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 3.2 steals per game.  Her biggest accomplishment in the AAU session was getting two offers from Daytona State and New College of Florida. Maia's biggest improvement from last season is her shooting... Maia worked hard  and long on her shot and her hooting form. Already seeing that pay off by an increase in her shooting consistency of her shot. Maia has developed a much quicker release  and a true boost in her confidence has been the result of all that hard work paying off. Maia's goals for this season include averaging all higher stats from last season while earning all area first team along the way and ultimately receiving MVP of her team.  . Currently Maia is averaging 15.8points , 5.4 rebounds, 3.2 assists and 3 steals per game. .

What separates Maia from other players is definitely her work ethic  which is evident by the way she plays. . No denying the work behind the performance.  Maia sees herself as a solid D2 player, she is open to other options  and wouldnt turn down an opportunity just because it's a lower. Maia's perspective is basketball is basketball wherever you go.division.. Make the best of any stage you play on, period.

What won her this weeks Player of the Week was her 24 point, 6 rebounds, 3 assists and 6 steals while shooting 60% against Island Coast. Congrat Maia ,! Well done!
