Steven is a gritty, high-motor point guard who plays with purpose and poise. He brings energy every possession, disrupting ball handlers, picking pockets, and setting the tone defensively. On offense, he’s a crafty playmaker who thrives in the pick and roll, reads defenses well, and dishes dazzling dimes. His ability to switch gears and make the right read under pressure separates him from others at his position. He doesn’t force the game but controls it. And when it's time to finish in the paint or deliver a drop-off after the defense shifts, Steven’s instincts take over. Every coach wants a guard who makes winning plays, and Steven does it with tenacity and toughness. He’s electric on the ball, unselfish with his vision, and fierce when finishing through traffic.

Steven shined on the 3SSB circuit with JAY Academy before a hand injury temporarily cut his season short. But when he was on the floor, he made every minute count, getting double-digit assist games, stripping defenders clean, and making timely buckets. He dropped 10 points and 11 assists with 3 steals in a win over NEXT, then followed with another 10 and 6 against B-Rod Select. Even in low-scoring games, his fingerprints getting 7 assists and 6 steals in a dominant win over Team Porter. That kind of impact without scoring shows just how valuable he is. His biggest improvement this past year wasn’t in stats, it was in adaptability. Transferring into a system with two established scorers forced him to evolve his role, and he embraced it, becoming a team-first facilitator. That growth led to the season’s highlight of winning a state championship and thriving in that high-stakes environment.

This summer, Steven’s focused on developing a consistent midrange game and learning how to create his own shot more often. His mindset is always locked in. What fuels him most is forcing a five-second call or snatching an easy steal, moments where defense turns into offense. He handles adversity by staying grounded in the work that built him, and he’s motivated by proving himself in a crowded field. At under six feet, he knows he has to stand out in every way, and he welcomes the challenge. With the departure of a key scorer from his high school squad, Steven is ready to step into a larger role and elevate both his leadership and production.

Off the court, Steven enjoys spending time with friends and playing video games to recharge. But once the lights are on, he’s all business. His goal this summer is to get on college coaches' radar. And with the way he plays the game—fast, fearless, and full of purpose—that radar won’t miss him for long.

I assess that Steven brings a high-energy, two-way presence that elevates any team he joins. His defensive pressure, advanced feel, and ability to create for others make him the ideal floor general for programs that value toughness and unselfish basketball. His game translates, especially in high-tempo systems, looking for a leader who can take control.

As his shot creation and middy development continue to grow, Steven is on track to be a game-changing lead guard at the next level. He’s battle-tested, confident, and ready to take on more responsibility. Expect his voice, vision, and fire to lead the charge in big games moving forward. Stay tuned for a breakout season ahead where this young star takes the lead in hopes of another deep postseason run.
