Luke brings a fast pace and a high motor every time he steps on the court, but his game is more than speed. He sees the floor, recognizes when a teammate has an opening, and knows when to take the scoring chance himself. That combination makes him a dynamic guard who can push the action without losing sight of what his team needs. He wants the ball moving, the defense working, and his teammates involved.

Luke averaged 10.0 points per game last season, with several of his biggest baskets coming when his team needed an answer late. Those moments showed his willingness to take a shot with the game hanging in the balance. He brought that same competitive fire to defense, putting heavy ball pressure on opposing top scorers and making them work to get into their offense. His scoring gave his team a lift, while his defense helped set a fierce tone from the opening possession.

The biggest improvement in Luke’s game has been his attack toward the basket. He's worked on getting into the paint and finishing efficiently, giving himself another way to score when defenders crowd him on the outside. His floor vision matters on those drives, too, because a defender stepping toward Luke can leave a teammate open for the pass. The more confident he becomes near the basket, the tougher it gets to guess whether he will finish or find someone else.

The regional loss to Neenah stayed with Luke after the season ended. He understood how quickly a postseason opportunity could slip away, and he put that disappointment into his offseason work. Rather than letting the result define his year, he returned to the gym knowing he would get another chance to help his team go farther. That experience gives his goals a personal edge because he knows exactly what it feels like when the season ends before he is ready.

Luke spent a lot of time in the weight room, working to get stronger and add more bounce to his jump. That work connects directly to the player he's becoming, especially when he drives into traffic, rises to finish, or challenges a shot on defense. He wants to bring more force to the paint while keeping the quickness and nonstop motor that already make his game stand out.

This season, Luke is chasing the Wisconsin Valley Conference title and a postseason run that includes at least two playoff wins. Those goals call for a team that can deliver in tough moments, and Luke wants to be one of the guards his coach can trust when those moments arrive. He expects to be a reliable option late in games and during the postseason, whether the team needs a clutch basket, a smart decision with the ball, or a demanding defensive possession.

I assess that Luke’s speed, high motor, and court vision give him several ways to lift his team. He can get the offense moving, put teammates in position to score, and take his own opportunity when a play calls for it. His willingness to guard a top scorer adds real value because he stays engaged on both ends, even when the game gets tight.

Luke’s improved finishing and growing bounce can make his drives even more effective this season. He has the skill to read a defender, the confidence to deliver late, and the competitive fire to make his matchup work for every basket. As those strengths continue to come together, he has the potential to become an even stronger scoring and defensive force for his team during its conference and playoff push. Stay tuned.
