Xavier is a fierce, versatile problem for defenses. He scores at all three levels, catch-and-shoot from deep, that smooth middy spin-fade, and strong finishes at the rack, and he threads dimes with good vision, especially out of the post. He can run anywhere from the 2–5, post mismatches, drive and kick, and keep the ball humming. On defense, he’s a true rim guardian who looks to make momentum-swinging chase-downs and plays physical, above the rim. The mindset is to win first, and everything else second.
Incoming as a freshman, Xavier’s comfort and confidence were his biggest improvements; no longer timid, now assertive and efficient. He played up on the UA Rise circuit with Wisconsin Playmakers 15U P32, trained with high-level names (Amari Allen, Carson Dorgu, Jayden Schoen, AJ Lieuwen, Ezra Brown, Jackson Paveletzke), and earned an invite to CP3 Rising Stars, where he learned the separator wasn’t skill, but pure athletic pop. That’s the offseason focus now: build explosiveness, elevate his perimeter defense, and keep expanding the glass work. Most telling is his standard for success: a 40-point night in a loss means less than 10 points, 12 rebounds, 9 assists line in a win. He’s a 4.0 student, already playing physical and above the rim, and primed to be an absolute menace in the P32 league.
The best advice he’s ever received came from Coach Harry Boyce: “Go water the bamboo.” Bamboo takes patience to grow deep roots underground before exploding upward at unstoppable speed. That lesson mirrors Xavier’s game: steady, disciplined, and prepared for a breakout that will happen fast once the roots have fully set.
I assess that Xavier’s size, versatility, and a winning mindset make him a plug-and-play fit for any program. His ability to produce at all three levels offensively while protecting the rim defensively is rare in a player his age. He thrives in big moments, values team success over stats, and brings an edge that raises the level of those around him.
As his athleticism and quickness evolve to match his skill set, Xavier projects as one of the most exciting young names in Wisconsin basketball. Expect him to deliver impact minutes as a freshman, stand out on the P32 circuit, and build momentum toward becoming a nationally recognized player. The bamboo is ready to break the ground, and once it does, Xavier’s rise will be unstoppable. Stay tuned.
