Graysen is an explosive combo that thrives on slicing into the seams for a wicked mid-range dagger. Elevating over defenders or aggressively attacking the rim for some fierce finishes, throwing it down on someone’s head. Graysen is extremely athletic and crafty with a nice speed off the bounce. If you play off Graysen he can slide out and bring the rain from three. He can stretch the defense and force defenders to pick their poison.
This past season Graysen averaged 10.5 points per game and shot 44% from the field with a 35.3% three-point clip. The most motivating thing that happened to Graysen last season that pushed him forward was when he broke his arm. He distinctly remembers the night he went for a dunk over someone on a fast break, The defender never jumped he stood there. He fell over his shoulder and ended up breaking his arm. It didn’t hold him back long. After only a month and a half, he was back. About half the expected time out. Graysen's goals going into next season are to make it to state, average 20 points a game, be a great team captain, set an example for his younger players who idolize him, and be a very coachable kid. Grayson also doesn't want to rub any coaches who are looking at him the wrong way, So he always wants to have the right body language.
Playing AAU for the Wisconsin Playmakers, some of Graysen's goals were getting his name out there and just having fun with his teammates. Graysen would love to get some college looks while focusing on improving his game. Specifically his shooting efficiency.
Some things that fuel Graysen's fire the most are people talking trash. When people say things to Graysen, it makes him feel full of energy. It makes everything easier. Graysen loves the pressure and playing in front of huge crowds. Not a better feeling than playing in a packed gym with everything on the line.
When things don't go his way on the court Graysen thinks about all the countless hours and reps he put into this game. He just thinks “Keep shooting” because it’s all he can do in those situations. With all the reps hours and sweat he puts into perfecting his game, one bad night isn’t enough to get him off the rails. Graysen is determined and disciplined at this point to not get thrown off by things he cannot control. He can control his reactions and how he can turn the situation into a positive, such as contributing to the game in other ways than just making shots.
Something Graysen sees that separates him is his energy. Graysen tries to be the loudest on the court, especially in camps/practice. Graysen's thought process is that if a high-level college coach was deciding between a 6-4 guard who plays like him, or him at 6-2 - what does he do that makes him worth taking? Graysen needs to do everything to separate at his height.
Graysen would love to play at the highest level(D1). However, Graysen would also love to play for a program that appreciates him and creates a great atmosphere. So wherever the best fit for him is honestly is where he would love to take his talents regardless of division.
Graysen is such a dynamic athlete his potential to play at a high division is within his reach. With a monster season ahead I advise everyone to buckle up, it's gonna be a fun ride.
