Josh is a dynamic two-way stud who leaps off the court the moment the ball touches his hands. He is a versatile scoring machine that punishes defenses from all three levels with his smooth, confident touch and his ability to attack downhill with purpose and intent. His catch-and-shoot game is lethal, a true rainmaker that demands respect, but he’s just as dangerous breaking down defenders off the bounce with his strong handles. Passing is dazzling, defense is steady, and his ability to guard 1 through 5 makes him the definition of today’s complete wing. He is athletic and crafty with a nonstop motor. Josh checks every box a coach could dream of.
This past season in the U18 New South Wales Junior Premier League, Josh averaged 19.9 points per game (5th in NSW), 4.8 rebounds, 4.6 assists, and 3.2 steals in 16 games. His biggest improvement came in expanding beyond being a pure three-point shooter, developing a deeper and more versatile scoring arsenal that led to multiple high-scoring explosions, including 44, 32, 31, 30, and 28 points. His offseason focus now turns toward speed, strength, and finishing consistently with both hands, all while continuing to add creativity and conditioning to his already well-rounded game. Motivation runs deep for Josh; his fire comes from never letting up when opponents break, and his achievements are fueled by the belief of his mother and sister, who inspire him every step of the way.
Fresh off his junior basketball career, Josh now shifts into the U23 NSW Youth League, where he’ll test his skills against older and stronger competition. It’s a proving ground he embraces with eagerness, ready to bring relentless effort and energy to every play. Coaches can expect him to dive on loose balls, attack the rim with confidence, and bring an unmatched intensity that changes the tempo of a game. Beyond the youth league, Josh looks forward to training with an NBL1 side, pushing himself against some of Australia’s best to keep elevating his game.
What truly sets Josh apart is his mix of speed and IQ. He thrives in fast-paced settings, finishing confidently with his left hand, making the right decisions in the heat of the moment, and never hesitating to take on the assignment of locking down the opposing team’s best player. When facing adversity, he resets, refocuses, and leans on discipline tools like the “3 R’s” (Recognise, Reject, Replace) to stay locked in. His coach’s advice, "Never dwell on mistakes and always focus on the next play," is a mentality he carries into every possession. Off the floor, Josh is grounded by the beach, lifting, the outdoors, and time spent with loved ones, showing that his drive extends far beyond basketball alone.
I assess that Josh’s skill set has the makings of a college program’s dream wing. His ability to score in bunches, create for others, and defend multiple positions adds constant impact to any roster he joins. Coaches will value his energy and competitive motor, but his consistency as both a shooter and slasher makes him a weapon that can swing games at the highest levels.
Josh's potential is moving toward being a rising force in national competition. His transition into older leagues will increase his development, preparing him for the physicality and speed required at the next stage. With his mix of confidence, athleticism, and relentless drive, he is poised to become a household name in Australian basketball circles and beyond. Stay tuned to see how high he flies.
