Auden is a prolific scoring machine. Speedy and athletic and can be downright shifty and tough to contain. Auden is a ruthless finisher at the rim with some mad hops and strength to match. But it has a silky smooth touch from 3 with unlimited range but nasty blowby speed to drop daggers in the mid-range with a bag full of tricks from quick pull-ups to a dazzling display of crafty athletic finishes. Auden plays with a high non-stop motor and fuels his team with energy, toughness, and strong leadership ability. Auden gobbles up boards like candy and with good court vision, if the defense colossus on him or he faces a double team or box-and-one, he can deliver a sweet dime. Auden is also a scrappy defender who loves picking pockets and turning those into quick transition finishes.
Outside of basketball Auden's biggest hobby is working out and spending time with friends and family.
This past season, Auden averaged 35.5 points, 9.2 rebounds, 3.1 assists, and 3 steals per game and has scored more than 2200 points and should break into the 3000-point club this season. A walking bucket yall!! Auden wants to develop his three-point shoot for a high percentage, which spells even bigger trouble for defenders. Auden's biggest basketball accomplishments have been scoring over 2000 career points, winning a regional championship game, and being a back-to-back district champion. I will add that Auden led his team to a clutch, hard-fought win in the opening round of the state tournament. (that's where I got my first look at this talented young stud). Auden's biggest improvement from last season to this would be the muscle and the weight he has put on.
Auden's goal for this upcoming season is to win the state championship. Auden would say the biggest challenge to achieve this goal would be work ethic and consistency. Auden does believe their team can make a deep tournament run because they proved it last year when they went to the final four of the state tournament. And what it will take will be dedication, time and hard work, which Auden believes his team does every single day. The biggest game along the way Auden is looking forward to will be Eagleville because they lost them in the regional championship game last year and it would be good to get some revenge. They are hungry to get that done!
What fires Auden up most on the court is the fans and big game situations. Auden lives for the big stage and high-pressure games where the crowd is rocking for or against him. If you are cheering for Auden, he will deliver a dazzling show to keep you hyped; if you're cheering against him, he uses that as motivation to silence the noise. Auden is a fierce competitor, always ready for battle.
Auden feels like he has dealt with adversity his whole life so he feels like he handles adversity very well, especially in big game situations.
Auden has two offers, one to Columbia State Community College and he also has an offer from Volunteer State Community College. Auden feels he could play in any division level because his game is like no one else and his work ethic is unmatched.
I assess that Auden is one of the most underrated stars in our state that can flat-out play, as I saw in the state tournament. You can't teach heart and tenacity; Auden has a ton of both. Don't let his size fool you, this kid outworks everyone on the court no matter who he faces and is fearless going against anyone, any size. The challenge pushes him to excel against bigger players. A lethal shooter and rebounder, which was most shocking as this kid snatched boards from bigger kids not just at state but the entire season. Putting in the work is just what he does out there. His defense also sets him apart. You usually don't see high-level scorers play tenacious defense. That's not the case with Auden, a complete player, y'all. This last year, Auden will be playing with more fire and purpose than ever before with a chip on his shoulder to prove to all the doubters that it's a mistake for overlooking him, and he has earned everything he received so far, and his journey hasn't done yet. If you don't believe it. Buckle up and get your popcorn ready! This will be a show you won't wanna miss. This year, he plans to make them see even more, knowing seeing is believing. Auden should be high on next-level boards, now with the size to do more damage; this is a win-win situation.
I watched him as a middle school player… solid work Eric, team player! Not a showboat. On top of all that, he is a very kind and well mannered young man!
Great article. As a spectator, watching him has been a great joy!
