Drew is a crafty young stud with a high IQ and amazing court vision. Drew thrives getting downhill and attacks the rim but versatile enough to knock down the long range bomb. Drew loves fueling his team with some dazzling passes that are really spot on. Drew is really good at mixing it up on the boards and a fierce defender. who loves picking pockets . Drew can play 1-3 on either side of the ball.
This past season Drew averaged 10 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assists and 2 steals a game. The most motivating thing that happened to Drew last season that will push him moving forward is the fact that his team won its 3rd consecutive Kanawha Valley Championship. With that experience Drew brings a winning mindset to Sissonville as a freshman. Drew's goal going into the season is to make a big impact for Sissonville basketball as a freshman right away. Drew's personal goal is to be named Freshman of the Year while helping his team reach the ultimate goal of getting to the Civic Center and win the State Championship as a Sissonville Indian.
Playing AA?U for the WV Gold Drews goals were to play o a national circuit and gain more recognition while focusing on improving his shooting, in hopes of becoming a lethal knockdown shooter when he isn't running the point. Day in and day out Drew works hard on all his attributes but this past summer he zoned in on his deep 3 point shooting..
What fuels Drew's fire the most on the court is whenever he is facing an opponent that talks a lot of smack the whole game. Drew loves that because he takes care of his business with his game doing all his talking for him. Drew has been known to be known as the silent assassin on the court.
Drew handles adversity during the game by finding small moments during dead ball situations telling himself he has to keep a next play mentality. drew even talks to his pawpaw in heaven while remembering all the things he used to say to him when he was younger.. Drews family is his motivation along with God .
A coach can expect Drew to do anything asked of him without questioning once and translate whatever the coach wants from him to the best of his ability A coach can also expect Drew to put in that work even on days off and try to be the best teammate he can be Coach can have full confidence in the leadership swagger without fail.
Drew sees himself playing D2/D3 because he feels like his game in not the isn't advanced enough for D1 right now. Drew does feel he can make it to D1 with hard work , keeping his faith in God, and a few more inches wont hurt.
I assess Drew as a D2 at this point as well. Drew 's all- around impact can't be ignored. With his intangibles are a gift as well as his energy out there. High IQ translates super well to the next level.Considering the way he can get boards with solid shooting and his ability to pass well . Drew is so coachable and hungry to learn and put it in action with quick adjustments as needed. It's going to be fun watching Drew find his role in this Sissonville culture and then elevate it with being a winner that knows how to win on the big stage. .And the potential is super hgh for Drew to go above and beyond what he sees right now, just gotta grind hard putting in that work. Stay tuned yall.
