Electric with his feet set and dangerous when rhythm takes over, Trey brings a confident scoring presence that stretches defenses the moment he crosses half court. A true shot maker from midrange and deep, he plays with poise, awareness, and a sharp feel for the game. What separates him is his ability to stay connected to winning. He is comfortable passing up a good look to create a great one, understands spacing, and sees plays develop before they fully open. Add in quick hands, active anticipation, and a competitive edge on the defensive end, and Trey becomes the kind of guard coaches trust to stay on the floor for long stretches.
Last season in 22 games, Trey averaged 12.1 points, 3.7 rebounds, 4.7 assists, 1.7 steals, and 0.9 blocks. This current season has opened with a statement. Through 4 games, he is averaging 22.75 points, 2.5 assists, and 3.3 rebounds, while wreaking havoc defensively with 5.7 deflections and 3.3 steals per game. His efficiency has jumped as well, shooting 55.8% from the field and a blistering 48.4% from three on 31 attempts. The growth shows clearly in his decision-making, shot selection, and ability to control possessions without forcing the issue.
The biggest improvement has been his basketball IQ paired with scoring efficiency. Trey is seeing the floor better, picking spots smarter, and letting the game come to him. His focus now is on becoming a true lockdown defender, tightening his ball handling under pressure, and continuing to grow as an on-ball stopper. Competing against stronger competition during fall ball played a major role in pushing that development, sharpening his reads and raising his comfort level in faster, more physical settings.
What drives him is setting the standard. Coaches can expect nonstop effort every possession, and every second he is on the floor. Trey takes pride in being reliable, coachable, and ready for whatever role is needed. He thrives when the team is engaged and feeding off shared energy, and he stays calm when adversity hits, consistently finding solutions instead of forcing plays. The plan is to lead, compete, and make a deep run in the state playoffs.
Off the court, Trey stays active and balanced. He enjoys baseball and football, ATV riding, video games, hunting, fishing, and continuing to grow as a person. Coming from a small area with limited exposure, he embraces every opportunity to prove himself and appreciates being seen for the work he puts in. Recruiting interest has not started yet, but he remains open and motivated, understanding that consistent effort and growth will take care of the rest.
Faith plays an important role in Trey’s life. Growing his relationship with God keeps him grounded, focused, and steady through change. After his school closed last year and he was forced to transfer, that foundation helped him adapt quickly and embrace a new environment with confidence and gratitude. His faith continues to guide how he competes, how he handles pressure, and how he approaches each day.
I assess that Trey brings value through shot-making, awareness, and effort. His ability to stretch the floor, defend with pressure and anticipation, and keep teammates involved gives a college program a guard who impacts both ends while staying connected to winning basketball.
Moving forward, expect continued evolution as Trey adds more strength, tightens his handles under pressure, and develops into a more dominant on-ball defender. His efficiency, mindset, and willingness to embrace competition point toward a guard who will keep rising and earning opportunities as his game continues to expand. Stay tuned.
