Jalen brings an inside-out attack that gives him several ways to put pressure on a defense, but his ability to create for himself and others is the heart of everything he does. He sees himself as a facilitator who can finish around the rim, live in the midrange, step outside and hit the three, while also putting teammates in the right spots to score. His strength isn't tied to one area of the floor because he can attack a lane, work into his spots, make the extra read, or punish a defender who gives him room. There is another side to his game that matters just as much, because Jalen takes pride in playing defense with passion and bringing energy on both ends of the court.

Last season gave Jalen plenty of reasons to believe in where his game is headed while also teaching him how to handle the difficult stretches that come with competition. He averaged around 10 points, 6 rebounds, and 3 assists per game while earning All-District honors, but the numbers only tell part of a season that tested his ability to persevere and keep fighting. One of his biggest moments came against MLK when his team trailed by 15 points in the fourth quarter before battling all the way back, with Jalen finishing the comeback by converting the game-winning and-one. Another memorable performance came against Hillsboro when the game went to overtime, and Jalen took control by scoring 8 straight points in the extra period to help his team take the win. Those situations showed a competitive edge that becomes especially valuable when possessions get tight, pressure rises, and somebody has to make something happen.

Jalen also recognized an area that needed improvement and attacked it instead of letting it remain a weakness. He felt contact was knocking him off balance and forcing difficult attempts around the basket, so he committed himself to lifting weights and becoming stronger with the ball. That added strength has helped him absorb bumps, maintain control, and finish harder through defenders, creating more opportunities to turn contact into and-ones instead of contested misses. His adversity throughout an up-and-down season also strengthened something beyond his body, because he learned that difficult stretches can't be a reason to quit or lose belief in the work he's already put in.

That work has continued throughout the offseason with Jalen refusing to limit his development to one skill. He has lifted, conditioned, elevated his shooting, tightened his ball-handling, and spent countless repetitions working on getting to his preferred spots with moves that resemble what he will actually use during games. Consistency drives his approach behind the scenes, especially during the days when there's no crowd watching and no immediate reward waiting at the end of a workout. Jalen understands that improvement is built through those quiet repetitions, and his desire to discover how good he can become keeps pushing him back into the gym.

His opportunity with Team Tae in the G-League gives Jalen another stage to test that progress against strong competition. His goals aren't limited to individual recognition because he also wants to be a dependable teammate who helps the players around him improve and contributes positively to the team.
