Garrison is a dynamic, two-way problem wrapped in explosive bounce and big-game fire. This high-flyer is a straight-line attacker who finishes above the rim with fierce authority and thrives in the chaos of close games. He feeds off energy, locking in on both ends with a relentless motor and unmatched toughness. His athleticism makes him a matchup nightmare, but it’s his defensive intensity, body control, and ability to guard multiple positions that separate him from the pack. With a spot-up touch that’s smooth and lethal, and a growing off-the-dribble arsenal, Garrison is quickly becoming one of the most complete and versatile young wings in Tennessee. You won’t find many players in the 2027 class who can pin your shot on the glass, knock down a transition three, then turn around and clap for a teammate with the same intensity. He’s that guy.
Coming off a season averaging 14 points, 8 boards, and 2 blocks per game, Garrison posted an efficient 58% from the field, 33% from three, and 83% from the stripe. But what makes those numbers even more powerful is what came before them; he had to completely reset after a serious injury kept him out for six months. Doctors weren’t sure he’d ever walk the same again, but through grit, prayer, and daily work, he came back better. His biggest improvements were his footwork, shooting touch, and the ability to get to his shot from different angles. Now fully healthy, his offseason focus has shifted to ball-handling and becoming a true big guard, capable of initiating offense, breaking pressure, and creating for others. From weight room grind to skill work on the VertiMax, he’s transformed his frame and expanded his game. He doesn’t just want to be good; he wants to dominate.
With Tennessee United, he’s been a force on the spring and summer circuits. He averaged 19 points, 8 rebounds, and 4 assists during a standout weekend and will be suiting up in Augusta, GA, at Made Hoops Live (July 10–13). This past May, he battled on the NY2LA Live stage in Indianapolis, showing scouts that he’s far more than a leaper, but a program changer. And he’s hungry for more. “My biggest goals are to win any game we’re in, get recruited for the next level, and enjoy the memories with my teammates and family,” he shared. His competitive edge turns up in crunch time. He thrives off the energy of the gym and knows how to respond to big moments with big-time plays. Leadership, communication, consistency, he’s stepping into all of it.
This season, he’ll play for a new squad after transferring from Daniel Boone to Dobyns Bennett. That move has only motivated him more. “I’m excited to play with my new guys and make a run at state,” he said. He plays to win, and no matter what. When facing adversity, his response is with positivity, encouragement, and purpose. “Positive energy is infectious; it can hold teams together when things get tough.”
But what truly defines Garrison Jones isn’t just his vertical or stats; it’s his faith. “I owe everything I have to my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ,” he said. “He saved my life and saved my physical health when I was badly hurt and almost lost my foot. He brought me back from the lowest of lows and has always been there for me.” Garrison lives with gratitude, strength, and a humble spirit. Every workout, every game, every moment, it’s all for God’s glory.
Off the court, he finds peace in attending church, playing pickleball, hitting the lake with his friends, and watching any kind of movie he can. His balance, joy, and humility off the floor make him the kind of teammate coaches dream of, someone who lifts everyone around him.
I assess that Garrison is a powerful two-way force who impacts the game with athleticism, motor, and versatility. He’s an ideal fit for programs looking for a guard/wing who defends at a high level, can space the floor, and finish in traffic. His willingness to lead, adapt, and sacrifice for his team makes him the type of player that changes the tone of a locker room and sets a winning standard.
Expect Garrison’s stock to surge this season. As his handles continue to improve and he grows into his role as a big guard, his ceiling gets even scarier. He already brings elite defensive effort and finishing ability, and as he learns to create for others and control pace, he’ll become one of the most complete prospects in the region. College coaches, take notice now. This kid is different. Stay tuned for a breakout season ahead.
