Michael is a composed and steady combo guard who brings patience, purpose, and discipline to every possession. With a smooth middy and a solid understanding of the game, he’s a player who keeps things grounded while always looking to improve. His basketball IQ and team-first approach help him stand out, especially on the defensive end, where he made big improvements over the season. He doesn’t try to be someone he’s not, he focuses on making smart plays, staying locked in, and building a complete game step by step. Coaches can count on him to show up with effort, attention to detail, and a hunger to grow.
This past season, Michael averaged 3.4 points and 2.7 rebounds per game, but the numbers don’t fully reflect his impact. His biggest improvement came on defense and from the free-throw line, and his midrange shot became a reliable tool in clutch moments. One of the season’s highlights came just after the new year when he poured in a career-high 11 points to help lead Newman Catholic to a tough win over a strong Phillips squad. Although an injury cut his season short and sidelined his AAU plans with UTC Fire, Michael hasn’t let that stop his focus. He’s locked in on becoming a better finisher at the rim and turning his outside shot into a consistent threat. His goals are to build confidence, get stronger, and step into a bigger role when he returns.
Michael draws motivation from the effort and sacrifice of his teammates. It pushes him to stay committed and keep showing up for the group. In tough moments, he trusts his work ethic and focuses on executing the little things that matter. The best piece of coaching advice he’s ever received is, “You’re only as good as the person next to you,” a reminder that there’s always room to grow and something to give. Off the court, Michael enjoys golfing, hanging with friends, and finding peace outdoors..
Michael’s discipline, feel for the game, and defensive growth give him the tools to be a reliable, coachable asset. He understands the value of every possession and plays within himself, making winning plays through effort and awareness. With time and development, he can be a dependable two-way guard who adds glue and grit to a backcourt.
There’s plenty of room for Michael’s game to grow, and the foundation is already there. As he returns from injury, expect a player ready to make the most of every opportunity. With continued work on his 3-point shot and rim attack, along with the steady mindset he already brings, Michael’s future is built on strong habits, quiet confidence, and real promise.
