Steven is a physical, confident guard who thrives on attacking the rim and getting buckets in traffic. With strong court awareness, shot-creating ability, and a natural feel for making plays, he brings a competitive edge every time he steps on the floor. After growing six inches in the past year, he’s transformed from a shooter into a complete three-level scorer who plays with poise and purpose. That growth, both physical and mental, has given him the freedom to get it whenever the team needs it, and the tools to do it effectively. Whether he's dropping dimes, locking up on defense, or taking over late in games, Steven finds ways to impact every possession.
This past season, Steven averaged 15.5 points, 4.5 assists, and 3 rebounds per game in his first full year of basketball. After years of splitting time with baseball, he committed to hoops full-time and dove into AAU competition, learning, adjusting, and growing with each game. His coaches believed in him, and he’s made the most of that opportunity, especially during the Bleacher Republic Nationals, where he led Kentucky Ambition 16U to a Gold Championship with a 22-point performance in the title game. His focus moving forward is on continuing to develop all parts of his game, getting stronger, quicker, and becoming an even more well-rounded contributor.
Steven describes himself as physical, aware, and versatile. He plays with intensity and purpose, loves to compete, and never forces the game. When things aren’t falling, he focuses on getting his teammates involved, communicating as a leader, and making the right play. Coaches can count on him to make something happen, whether it’s the right pass, a stop, or a bucket himself; he’ll deliver.
Off the court, he’s focused, grounded, and motivated by family and faith. He’s constantly in the gym, training with his father, a coach, or with friends, and he’s hungry to keep improving as both a player and a person.
Steven has the instincts and physical tools to be a reliable shot creator and playmaker at the next level. His mindset, awareness, and ability to thrive in big moments give him real potential as he continues to develop his frame and evolve his all-around game.
As he adds strength and builds on his foundation, expect Steven to become a go-to weapon and trusted leader. He’s just scratching the surface, and with his work ethic and drive, his best basketball is still ahead. Stay tuned.
