Owen is a powerful downhill runner who is fast and punishing with a physical nature that can't be brought down easily. Owen's IQ and ability to rip through running lanes between the tackles with explosiveness and purpose. Owen invites defenders as he bulldozes right through initial tackles and yards after contact is uncanny. Owen makes nasty cuts, has a good leg drive, and is electric when he bounces outside turning on that breakaway speed, call him the JETT!! Owen also can play slot receiver.
Already this season Owen has 79 runs 546 rushing, 5 rushing TD, and a 2pt conv 1/1 for 14 yd passing with 1 passing TD, 1 kickoff return for 50 yards for 610 total yards in 3 season games, and a scrimmage. Owen's biggest improvement this year has been his footwork. Owen worked on that this off-season while making big gains in speed and size as well.
Owen's love for the game and his teammates fuels him. Most importantly Owen feels like God gave him talents to use for his glory so that is his fire.
When adversity hits, Owen buckles down and brings the team together.
What sets Owen apart is his work ethic. Owen will give you 110% effort every day, every practice, every play of every game. Off the field, Owen spends the time studying film to make sure he is prepared. A coach can expect nothing less than great effort and attitude along with consistent production on the field.
Like every kid in this game, Owen has dreamed of playing D1 football and would love that opportunity. Owen is looking hard at smaller D1 schools and the D2 schools. Owen currently has a D3 offer from Lyon College. Mostly, Owen is looking for the school that gives him the best opportunity to get on the field and play the game he loves while getting his education. Owen works hard to maintain that 4.0 GPA understanding the true value of education as well as athletics.
What would make a school stand out is the campus atmosphere and tradition. Owen is looking for great team camaraderie and great team leadership.
Owen's best advice to a younger player would be “You play like you practice so go all out every day.”
I assess Owen as a dynamic athlete who performs at an extremely high level and has a lot of DOG in him. His raw talent is insane and that speed alone is going to be huge if he continues his season at this pace the offers will grow. Owen is hungry and setting the stage for a monster season. Looks like he plans to bust down some doors with his playmaking. Buckle up y'all and watch this diamond shine!!
