Laurence Manning Academy, SC

Wesley is a blue-collar baller with a nonstop motor. He is a versatile wing who lives for the dirty work; he rebounds like a forward, defends with pride, and brings vocal energy that lifts everyone around him. He’s a three-level scoring threat with a strong, athletic frame, smooth handles, and an unselfish mindset that makes him a connector on the court. With elite court vision, physical finishes through contact, and a knack for making plays on both ends, Wesley checks every box you want in a high-IQ, high-impact wing. Whether he's raining tough jumpers or diving for loose balls, he plays smart, aggressive, and with full throttle intensity every possession.

He averaged 14 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists, and 1 steal per game during live periods and has been a stat sheet stuffer all summer. Some of his standout performances include 17 points, 3 assists, 5 boards, and 2 steals vs Augusta Christian; a strong 11 point, 6 assists, 8 rebounds, and 2 blocks vs Heathwood; and 20 points with 6 rebounds and 3 dimes vs Hammond. That steady production reflects growth from a previous 6.5 points per game last season, fueled by major improvements attacking the basket, defending on-ball, and gaining confidence after battling minor injuries. His biggest offseason focus has been full-court defense, ball control under pressure, and keeping his jumper consistent. He’s already elevated his confidence, energy, and value as a blue-collar gem and vocal leader for his AAU squad, Palmetto Pride NXT Pro.

Describing himself as a rebounding wing with “crazy good vision,” Wesley prides himself on the little things, talking on defense, making unselfish plays, and consistently bringing smart, high-energy effort. Coaches can count on him to be aggressive, vocal, and active for all four quarters. The most impactful moments haven’t been highlights, but how he responded to adversity, by staying calm, staying locked in, and pushing through. That’s the mindset that separates him.

Wesley is fired up by momentum, his or his teammates’, and that first bucket sets the tone for the game. Looking ahead, he’s excited to build chemistry with his new team and improve every area of his game. The best advice he’s ever received is, “Stay calm and the game will come to you.” That quiet confidence mixed with relentless effort makes him a very intriguing wing. With a strong July ahead and rising interest, his breakout is already in motion.

Off the court, Wesley loves vacationing with family and friends and spending time outdoors. Whether it’s hooping or hiking, he’s all about putting in the work and enjoying the journey.

I assess that Wesley’s ability to rebound, defend, and score in rhythm makes him an immediate asset at the wing. His floor awareness, vocal leadership, and consistent hustle give him an edge in every system. With continued development, he’s the type of versatile piece that winning programs are built around.

Expect Wesley to keep climbing. He’s already proven he can fill the stat sheet and impact the game in multiple ways. As his confidence and handles continue to grow, his ceiling rises even higher. Coaches looking for toughness, smarts, and skill wrapped into one should have Lyles locked on their radar. Stay tuned for statement season ahead.
