Calvin may be known for making shots, but his game goes far beyond putting points on the scoreboard. He describes himself as an off-ball creator who never stops moving, constantly forcing defenses to make difficult decisions with his cutting, spacing, and ability to shoot from anywhere on the floor. His high motor shows up on every possession, whether he is chasing down rebounds against bigger opponents, defending with toughness, or doing the little things that help a team win. Even when the ball is not in his hands, Calvin finds ways to impact the game because his movement creates opportunities for both himself and his teammates while keeping constant pressure on the defense.

His junior season at Blue Valley Southwest required him to embrace a different role. Coming off the bench as the sixth or seventh man, Calvin averaged 4 points and 2 rebounds per game while providing valuable minutes whenever his number was called. Instead of worrying about stats, he focused on bringing energy and helping his team in any way possible. One of his biggest moments came during a must-win game against Aquinas when he helped spark a comeback that kept his team alive. His favorite memories were never about individual accomplishments because they came from the exciting transition runs his team put together, playing fast, sharing the basketball, and feeding off one another's energy. Those experiences taught him that winning comes from embracing every opportunity instead of worrying about personal numbers.

As soon as the high school season ended, Calvin carried that mindset straight into AAU with Bigger Than Basketball, where everything started coming together. Averaging 15.8 points, 8.5 rebounds, and 2.5 made three-pointers per game over four games in Kansas City, he showed exactly what happens when confidence meets opportunity. The team's pace and freedom allowed him to play instinctively, while his nonstop movement without the basketball created open looks for himself and opened driving lanes for teammates. Even when BTB played smaller lineups, Calvin welcomed the responsibility of battling for rebounds against taller opponents, proving once again that effort and determination can erase size differences more often than people expect.

One of the biggest changes in Calvin's game has been his willingness to attack the basket. What was once a weakness has become another weapon because he has worked tirelessly to become more aggressive off the dribble instead of settling for jump shots. At the same time, he continues to battle the challenge of playing against bigger and stronger opponents. Although he has built a reputation for rebounding and defending above his size, he knows adding strength remains a major priority, and he attacks that goal with the same determination he brings to every workout and every game.

That relentless work ethic is impossible to ignore. Calvin's days begin before sunrise at 5:30 every weekday, either spending hours in the gym improving his shot or working through team practice. Later in the day, he returns for strength training before putting in extra work on his ball-handling and finishing, and he wraps up his evenings with conditioning that includes sprints or intense live competition. For Calvin, the most important part is not one specific workout because it is the consistency of showing up every single day with the same hunger to improve. He believes those small daily investments eventually become the difference when the lights come on.

His offseason focus is locked in on improving his conditioning, building strength, tightening his handle, and preparing to control an offense with or without the basketball in his hands. He wants his rebounding to translate at every level of the game while continuing to grow into a more complete offensive threat. His long-term goal is simple because he wants the opportunity to play college basketball and prove he belongs there through hard work instead of words.

The motivation behind that journey runs much deeper than basketball. Calvin wears No. 14 in honor of his father, who passed away on May 14, 2019, and every game becomes another chance to honor his memory. That purpose fuels every sprint, every rebound, every extra workout, and every sacrifice made behind the scenes. Coaches can expect someone who never stops running the floor, embraces every dirty job, competes with relentless energy, and brings a team-first attitude regardless of the score. Looking ahead, Calvin expects to launch plenty of three-pointers, make even more plays off the bounce, thrive in transition, and continue proving that he has everything it takes to earn an opportunity at the next level.

I assess that Calvin's value comes from the many ways he impacts a game beyond scoring. His constant movement, outside shooting, rebounding instincts, defensive effort, and willingness to embrace difficult assignments allow him to fit naturally into winning basketball. As his strength and on-ball creation continue improving, his overall impact should become even greater.

Calvin is building his game with discipline, purpose, and a blue-collar approach that coaches appreciate. His commitment to daily improvement, combined with his competitive spirit and deeply personal motivation, gives him an opportunity to keep climbing as he enters the next chapter of his basketball journey while chasing his goal of playing at the collegiate level.
