The recruiting process tested patience, belief, and resolve, but when the time came to choose, everything lined up the way it was supposed to for Brooks. With 10 offers on the table, this decision was never about numbers or attention. It was about finding a place that truly wanted him and saw him as part of something bigger. From the very beginning, Brevard separated itself by how intentional the relationship felt, how consistent the communication was, and how clear the belief in Brooks never wavered.
From his first visit, Brooks felt it. Meeting Coach Burgess and Coach Casey made everything click. The vision was clear. The plan made sense. They took the time to answer every question and showed exactly how Brooks fit into what they were building over the next four years. It wasn’t about selling a dream. It was about alignment, trust, and fit. That feeling of being wanted mattered, and Brevard made it obvious.
The grind behind the scenes demanded consistency long before results showed up. Brooks put in the work daily, even when the momentum was quiet. There were stretches where he was training hard and not hearing much from colleges, moments that tested confidence and patience. Instead of backing off, he grinded harder. That persistence paid off when offers started rolling in the summer before his senior year, turning doubt into opportunity and reaffirming that the work was worth it.
Family played a huge role throughout the journey. They were there through every high and every waiting period, offering steady support and belief. Faith was just as important. Brooks’ relationship with God grounded him through the pressure, the uncertainty, and the excitement. Keeping his eyes on the Lord gave him peace and strength, allowing him to stay steady no matter the situation.
With the commitment now official, Brooks is locked in on what comes next. The focus is on adding 15–20 pounds, continuing to develop physically, and preparing for a smoother transition to the college level. The work does not stop. If anything, it elevates.
Several people played meaningful roles along the way. The SEBA family and Coach William LoPresti were instrumental in Brooks’ development and growth. At The King’s Academy, Coach Brett Hereth and Coach Ben helped shape his game from his freshman year forward, building the foundation that made this moment possible.
For those still grinding toward their opportunity, Brooks’ message is, Keep working, stay patient, believe in yourself, ignore the doubt, and trust that the work will show up when the time is right.
Brooks brings Brevard a competitor built on consistency, belief, and preparation. His approach to development, trust in the process, and willingness to embrace growth align naturally with a program focused on long-term progress.
Moving forward, expect Brooks to continue developing physically and mentally as he prepares for the next level. With his mindset, support system, and commitment to the work, his ceiling remains open as he begins this next chapter.
