Caden steps on the floor with a simple but dangerous mindset… go to work and make it count. He brings energy every possession, stays coachable, and plays with a quiet confidence that builds as the game unfolds. He’s wired to get to his spots, trust what he’s worked on, and attack whatever the defense gives him. Whether it’s creating for himself or setting up others, Caden plays with purpose and doesn’t shy away from the moment.
Championship Sunday at the #PrimeTimeShowcase turned into a war, and Caden walked right into it ready. Leading all scorers with 14. It was an early game, not always easy to settle into, but once he saw where the openings were, everything started clicking. His middy game came alive, smooth and controlled, getting to his spots with confidence. The pick and roll connection with #7 Devin kept the defense guessing, and every time they hesitated, Caden made them pay. That rhythm, that ability to read and react, that’s what carried him through.
When the game tightened, and every possession started to carry real weight, Caden didn’t panic. He stuck to what he trusts, his pull-up middy, going to his off hand, reading tired defenders, and attacking their weaknesses. He’s been in those moments before, and it showed. No rushing, no forcing, just clutch buckets and smart reads when it mattered most.
His season at Stratford Stem was anything but smooth, but that’s where his toughness showed. It was up and down, going from playing heavy minutes to barely seeing the floor, even stepping into a starting role at times. Through all that, he stayed ready. One of his biggest moments came against Liberty Creek, where everything clicked. He controlled the game, found his spots, dropped it off to his bigs, and finished with 5 assists along with steals to help secure the win. That was a glimpse of what he can do when everything lines up.
Postseason didn’t go the way he wanted. An ankle injury slowed him down and kept him off the floor more than he would’ve liked. But even in that, there was something building. That time away didn’t break him; it sharpened his focus. It pushed him to get back to work the moment it ended.
Now running with Team Tae’ 16U, that confidence is growing. With Coach Tae in his corner, he’s getting to his spots more often and playing with a belief that’s hard to shake. There are stretches where he looks unstoppable, attacking with intent and letting the game come to him naturally. The work is starting to show up in real time.
Adversity followed him all season, especially battling through that ankle injury, but he never backed off. He played through it when he could, stayed locked in, and kept pushing forward. That resilience is part of what defines him.
The biggest improvement in his game has come from his pull-up and his ability to get to his spots. That didn’t happen by chance. That came from getting right back in the gym as soon as the season ended, putting in the work, and building confidence through repetition. It shows in how he moves now, how he attacks, and how comfortable he is in his game.
What a coach is getting with Caden is everything he’s got. He empties the tank every time out. He’s not the loudest voice, but his game speaks for itself. Effort, toughness, and a willingness to embrace any role given to him. That kind of player finds a way to impact winning.
And if there’s one thing to take from Caden, it’s this, he’s been putting in the work, and he’s ready. Ready for whatever comes next, ready for any role, and ready to prove it every time he steps on the floor.
I assess that Caden is a confident shot creator who thrives in the midrange and understands how to get to his spots. He plays with strong effort, competes through adversity, and shows the ability to make smart reads, especially in pick-and-roll situations. His willingness to adapt and stay ready through an inconsistent season stands out.
As Caden continues to build on his ball-handling, off-hand development, and overall scoring consistency, his ability to impact games will continue to expand. His confidence and shot-making ability already give him a strong base. With continued work and staying healthy, he has the tools to become a reliable scoring option who can control tempo and create opportunities at a higher level. Stay tuned.
