A versatile athletic combo guard who can be an imposing force that overpowers defenders with a dazzling array of crafty and creative moves. Fierce and explosive off the bounce and a ruthless finisher. Mixes it up on the boards very effectively. Can drop a nice dime. Jay is an outstanding defender, elite! Jay's biggest improvement since last year has been his outside shooting and his playmaking. Jay's confidence to shooting are through the roof. Putting in the hard work a song hours every day whether early on the morning, during the day or latest night you will find Jay grinding to elevate his skill more and more. During the AAU session Jay ran the point while allowed to work on being a facilitator, gathering the art of reading the defense and maximizing his playmaking ability of getting everyone involved and controlling the tempo of the game. Last season Kay averaged 20.6 points, 7.6 rebounds, 2.7 assists, 1.8 steals, .9 blocks. And this season Jay has set his goals to win the state championship, the Gatorade POTY ,1st team all state and Kanawha Valley Captains as he prepares for the next level. Coaches should know that Jay brings excellent versatility and a competitive edge with a defensive swagger that will do whatever it takes to win. Offensively Jay can run point or play post. He can drive or knock down jumpers effectively. Defensively Jay invites to challenge to guard the other team's best player and will excel defending 1-4 and always up for the challenge of locking them down. A.axing on ball or off ball defense. That's special right there. Assessment is Jay can easily be low D1 or high level D2. But with this talented young star it's not even about the division level, but the right fit and opportunity that will maximize his skills.
