Jacob is a fearless flamethrower with deep, unlimited range and the confidence to let it fly no matter the stage or score. He plays with a high basketball IQ and has the court awareness to find the open man or take over when needed. Already evolving into a complete three-level scorer, Jacob is a high-energy competitor with a fast-developing defensive edge. He mixes fundamentals with fire, staying poised in the moment while keeping a sniper’s mentality. Coaches can count on him to go 100% from the opening tip, never backing down, never hesitating, and never thinking twice about pulling the trigger, even after a cold start. That relentless belief in his shot makes him dangerous at all times.
Coming off a huge summer, Jacob exploded for 92 points in four games, including back-to-back 17-point outings, a 28-point game and a 30-point masterpiece in the last game where he hit eight triples in the final game of the weekend. He averaged 23 points per game during that stretch, running with Cave Gym Elite over the last three weekends. Since transferring to Clay County right before the end of the school year, he’s been building chemistry with his new teammates during summer school ball. His confidence and defensive tenacity have been his biggest improvements. He’s focused this offseason on improving his vertical and quickness. With 1,130 career varsity points and All-Region honors as a freshman, the game is clearly in good hands. Jacob’s fire is fueled by being the underdog, never ranked, always overlooked, and always ready to prove himself.
Jacob describes his game as fundamental, competitive, and determined. He stays cool in the face of adversity, showing no emotion even when things get tough. He plays with joy and positivity. The best coaching advice he’s ever received is. "Always have fun and stay positive." Off the court, he enjoys spending time at church, riding 4-wheelers, and kicking back with friends.
I assess that Jacob’s long-range shooting and confident mindset give him the potential to be a game-changing threat for any program. His growth as a defender and willingness to attack as a complete scorer add layers to his impact. Coaches can expect a reliable weapon who never takes a possession off and can shift momentum in an instant.
With 1,100+ points already under his belt and a drive fueled by being counted out, Jacob is destined for a monster high school career. As his athleticism and quickness continue to catch up to his shot-making, expect him to light up scoreboards and raise eyebrows across the region. The underdog label won’t last much longer. Stay tuned as the monster season is coming in hot.
