Preston is a fierce, dynamic, and fearless playmaker who brings fire to both ends of the court. He’s an elite three-level scorer who can break down defenders off the bounce, rain threes in rhythm, or explode to the rim with intensity. But he’s not just a scorer, he’s a savvy point guard with surgical court vision who thrives at creating open looks for teammates. His gritty motor, competitive edge, and swagger make him a matchup nightmare every time he steps on the floor. What separates Preston is his ability to adapt; he can lead an offense, take over when needed, or anchor a defense with relentless energy. He plays the game with a chip on his shoulder, and that edge is what fuels his ability to dominate and demand attention.
Despite playing behind four senior guards under a new coach, Preston still averaged 6.5 points, 2 assists, and 2 rebounds per game. But that didn’t tell the full story. His offseason explosion has been undeniable, adding vertical bounce, more confidence at the point, and a more physical brand of basketball. His biggest motivation came from the sting of being underutilized, a fire that now fuels his grind. He’s focused on developing his upper body strength and adding a reliable post game to round out his offensive arsenal. Preston plays with Utah Gold on the AAU circuit and made waves at the Colorado Live Showcase, torching teams in back-to-back standout performances. He dropped 20 points with 3 steals, 3 rebounds, and 2 assists against Thunder Ridge, and followed it up by leading all scorers with 26 points against Northfield, flashing his full offensive bag. His goals this summer were to dominate, earn college attention, and prove to everyone just how dangerous he really is.
Preston lives for the competition; nothing gets him going like a high-stakes, high-energy battle. When facing adversity, he hits the gym and turns frustration into fuel. The best piece of advice he’s ever received is, "True success only comes when you play the right way," and he’s living proof of that, gritty, passionate, and all heart. His focus heading into next season is to help lead Pleasant Grove on a deep playoff run and show the state they’re legit contenders. With offers bound to follow after his summer performance, Preston is out to make sure his name isn’t just known but remembered.
I assess that Preston brings intensity, leadership, and a fearless scorer’s mentality to any program. His mix of vision, shot-making, and competitive fire makes him an instant asset to a college backcourt, who can impact the game whether he's running the show or playing off-ball.
With his athletic growth, improved confidence, and a hunger to prove himself, Preston is evolving fast. Expect him to command a bigger role this upcoming season and continue torching defenses. He’s built for the big moments and just getting started. Stay tuned for a breakout season ahead.
