Malachy is an underrated lightning bolt on the court, a crafty scorer, high-energy defender, and relentless competitor who refuses to be outworked. He’s a dynamic shot-creator with fierce handles, an explosive first step, and a crafty finishing package around the rim. Whether he’s breaking defenders down off the dribble or pushing the tempo in transition, he brings relentless energy to both ends of the floor. He’s a tough-nosed defender who doesn’t shy away from contact and uses footwork and effort to make stops. He’s also an unselfish playmaker who sees the floor well and delivers with purpose. Coaches can always expect effort, vocal leadership, and a competitive mindset from him every time he steps on the floor.
He averaged 18.9 PPG during the first half of his past season and 16.6 points per game through the back half in Division B, finishing with 234 total points and 31 made threes. His confidence and aggressiveness were his biggest improvement this year, alongside a stronger left hand and better reads in traffic. He’s made it a priority to continue building consistency from deep, improve his off-the-dribble shooting, and develop more bounce and quick decision-making in tight windows. He stepped into a leadership role this season that helped him mature faster, and his AAU run helped boost his game speed and exposure as an undersized but fearless competitor.
Malachy thrives when counted out; being overlooked fuels his fire. He plays with a chip on his shoulder and a drive to outwork whoever lines up across from him. His ultimate goal is to take another leap this coming season, he’s focused on evolving as a shooter, helping lead his team to a championship, and continuing to prove that heart, effort, and IQ are what really separate the best from the rest.
Malachy’s combination of quickness, grit, and control makes him a weapon on both ends. His ability to score, create, and lead allows him to impact a program far beyond the box score. He plays the right way, smart, fast, and hard, and brings toughness that programs need.
Expect Malachy to keep rising. With his expanding shot-making range, upgraded ball-handling, and growing leadership, he’s building toward a breakout season. His focus, faith, and work ethic give him a real shot to make waves at the next level and beyond. Stay tuned.
