Gavin is an explosive on-ball defender with a lethal perimeter touch and a fierce nonstop motor—a dynamic force built for both ends of the floor. As a true 3&D weapon, his lockdown presence creates chaos for opposing guards while his smooth touch from deep forces defenders to respect every inch past the arc. He thrives in the fast pace, flying into passing lanes, contesting shots, and draining big threes with confidence. His awareness, timing, and quick reaction time fuel a crafty, high-IQ game. Gavin isn’t just versatile but a playmaker with a gritty edge who refuses to take a possession off. He plays with passion, intensity, and a fearless hunger to compete every time he laces up.
Gavin averaged 9.8 points, 5.3 assists, and 4.6 rebounds per game this past season while knocking down 34% from deep. His scoring took a major jump, and he credits his off-ball movement and improved court feel as the biggest changes in his game. What really stood out, though, was the growth on the defensive end. He took pride in being the disruptor, the one who set the tone. This offseason, he’s focused on becoming a more dynamic scorer off the bounce and finishing through contact, turning tough shots into confident ones. His goal is to become the kind of offensive threat that matches the intensity of his defense. What fuels his fire is an and-1 play and close battles; when the game tightens, Gavin goes into attack mode.
This AAU season, Gavin will play for Impact Sports and already has his eyes locked in on the Prep Hoops Tournament, set for May 16–18. He’s most excited about the daily grind, competing in practice, building chemistry, and pushing himself against top talent. His focus is on growth, not just putting up numbers. He’s out to prove he can score with the ball in his hands, create offense, and convert under pressure.
Off the court, Gavin enjoys keeping things competitive too, staying sharp with games, workouts, and film study. He’s the type of player that’s always working, even his downtime feeds the drive. His fire runs deep, ignited by the energy of intense moments and fueled by a mindset built on fearless effort. When facing adversity, Gavin stays calm, slows the moment down, and locks in on the right play. The best advice he ever got was, "Don’t play scared". Whether the shots are falling or not, he brings the same fire every time.
I assess that Gavin is the kind of athlete who impacts the game with his effort and intelligence. His defensive instincts and perimeter shooting make him an immediate asset on both sides of the ball. He can guard multiple positions, space the floor, and set the tone with hustle and toughness. He doesn’t chase the spotlight, he earns it with work. His commitment to improving his ball-handling and scoring versatility shows he’s not satisfied with being a role player; he wants to be a leader.
For a college program, Gavin offers a complete two-way toolset. He fits into systems that demand defensive accountability and high-percentage outside shooting. His growth mindset, competitive edge, and willingness to absorb coaching make him extremely coachable.
Expect a player who gets better every season, who grinds in the shadows and explodes in the moments that matter. Gavin's ceiling continues to rise, and with the foundation he's building, his name will be one to watch in the 2028 class. Stay tuned.
