Eli is a dominating force to anyone his age, like a man among boys. A versatile stud with a high IQ who operates relentlessly in the paint. He is a crafty scorer who scores at will. Eli is a strong ball-handler and has great court vision. He loves to drop sweet dimes to his teammates. Eli can also bring the rain from downtown or aggressively attack off the bounce. The defense is at his mercy because he can create shots for himself or his teammates. Defenders must pick their poison as this matchup nightmare can be a one-man wrecking crew. Eli is a fierce rebounder and can fuel the fast break in a flash. Eli is also a nasty defender. His energy on both ends is contagious and his motor makes any team he is on high octane.
Eli 's middle school team won the Kanawha County Championship Crown. Eli built on that success and had himself a monster summer playing for the WV Hustle and with them, he won:
Bracket Sportz Tri-State Championships
The Hustle Hoopfest Championship
The Bracket Sportz Below the Net Championship- named MVP
Gold Bracket Bleacher Republic
Teammates Nationals 7th grade Bracket
Hustle Spring Showdown 6th and 7th.- Named 7th grade MVP
Then Eli joined Team Loaded out of NC and the winning streak continued:
Won the Lamelo Ball Invitational
Won The Phenom Hoops Summer Nationals
Won the USBA Nationals
Finally lost in the Semifinals in the MadeHoops Nationals to the eventual Champions
Eli was named the 2030 MVP of the Camp One Midwest Spotlight Camp.
So this AAU session was an incredible run for this young star. Eli was asked to play for Team Loaded's National Team - they only played in the biggest tournaments with better competition than Eli was used to. It only made Eli stronger and gave him more confidence as he realized he could play with anybody considering most of those kids were reclassed. Eli now knows he can truly be one of the best. Eli accomplished his AAU goals of improving his perimeter shooting and finishing through contact. This will spell even more trouble for his opponents this upcoming season.
Eli's toughest challenge came when they played against a team called Super Elite out of CA. This team was loaded with talented players and it took a complete team working hard together to beat them, but they got it done. Winning the USBA Nationals was a defining moment for Eli this travel season. Eli personally had a strong tournament and his Team Loaded squad was starting to gel and work well together. The MadeHoops Nationals showed Eli how tough the competition was outside of WV. Playing up with the 7th grade also helped make Eli a stronger and craftier player.
Eli's learned keeping a good attitude regardless of the situation will help his recruiting. This year Eli wants to focus on being a leader with a positive attitude so it doesn't affect his play. Eli feels the biggest obstacles he may face are playing time and his attitude.
I assess a fire that was lit during Eli’s summer run that will take his game to yet another level in the regular season. His game and confidence continue to grow. The impact he is likely to bring will gain Eli more and more playing time and by season's end a huge role in the success of his team. Eli is a proven winner and developed way beyond his years that won't be easily overlooked every time he hits the floor and he brings that winning attitude with him. This will be a breakout season for this young phenom we will not forget soon. More importantly, Eli knows what he can do against anyone and is ready for the challenges ahead knowing he has the opportunity to keep his stock and skills moving up. I'm super hyped to see his season journey unfold. We will keep checking in on Eli. This is going to be one incredible ride no one will want to miss.
