Tyler is a smart, skilled, and fearless guard who plays every game like it’s his last. With a high IQ and steady command of the floor, Tyler is a playmaker that keeps defenses honest and teammates confident. He attacks seams with intent, makes the right reads under pressure, and delivers dimes that turn good possessions into great ones. Offensively, he has a punishing middy and can flat out torch the net from deep. When he gets into rhythm, it’s trouble. Defensively, he’s a pest, tenacious, alert, and relentless in creating steals and disrupting opposing guards. He’s not just on the floor to run the offense; he’s there to control the tempo, fuel his team, and make winning plays.
Tyler averaged 12.3 points, 4 assists, 3 rebounds, and 3 steals per game this past season while stepping into a bigger scoring role. His biggest improvement was finding confidence in his shot creation and learning how to get to his spots under pressure. His biggest improvement was finding confidence in his shot creation and learning how to get to his spots under pressure. This offseason, Tyler is focused on expanding his game through ball screen actions, specifically learning how to read the second defender and score more efficiently out of those sets. He's determined to raise his assist numbers and keep his teammates involved while continuing to be a threat every time he touches the ball.
What makes Tyler different is his mindset. He approaches every game with urgency, knowing each possession matters. That fire comes from his dad’s advice, "Not every player has a 'why.” For Tyler, it’s about more than liking the game. It’s about having purpose, waking up every day with a reason to grind, and chasing something greater. When facing adversity, he pulls the team together, gets everyone locked in, and leads. He’s the glue when things get shaky and the voice that brings focus back into the huddle.
Off the court, Tyler is either in the weight room, watching film, or relaxing with friends and family. But make no mistake, the mission never leaves his mind. He’s built for the moment, and he's only getting stronger.
I assess that Tyler’s combination of leadership, poise, and scoring touch makes him a guard that coaches can trust in tight moments. He brings control, vision, and defensive firepower, all while creating opportunities for himself and those around him.
As he continues to develop his ball screen reads and expand his shooting range, Tyler is evolving into a complete, next-level point guard. He has the mentality, the motor, and the "why," and that’s a dangerous combination moving forward. Stay tuned for a monster season ahead.
