Duke brings a fierce, confident presence every time he steps on the floor, playing with a scorer’s mindset while still seeing the whole picture. He lets the game come to him, makes the right reads, and stays aggressive without forcing the issue. His ability to shoot off the dribble with confidence combines naturally with strong vision, allowing him to find teammates when defenses collapse. He mixes in rebounding, stays active around the play, and keeps pressure on opponents by attacking space, finishing through contact, and using his body to create the angles he wants. His growth shows in how composed he is, how patient he stays, and how quickly he can flip a game once he finds rhythm.
Last season in conference play, Duke averaged 17.3 points per game, then raised that number to 22 points per game in conference play this year. His junior season came with major recognition and winning attached to it, earning 4A-1 Player of the Year, 4A All State, 4A All State Tournament, and 4A-1 All Conference honors. He was a key piece on an undefeated conference championship run at 14-0. Through conference, regional, and state play, his numbers stood at 17.3 points per game, 8.3 rebounds per game, 3.1 assists per game, while shooting 39.8 percent from three, showing he impacts games well beyond just scoring.
That steady growth exploded into a full takeover in his most recent performance at Prairie Grove. Duke was a man on fire from the opening stretch, bringing that rain with confidence and a smooth touch from deep while shooting a blistering 50 percent from beyond the arc. Once he found rhythm, the scoring came in waves, and the pressure never stopped building. This was not just a jumper night either. He attacked space off the bounce, finished through contact, stayed composed when defenders tried to body him up, and punished every opening the defense gave him. The final line told the story loud and clear as he finished with 32 points on an ultra-efficient 12-20 from the field, stacked buckets from all over the floor, and complete control of the night.
He made his presence felt in other ways as well, pulling down 4 rebounds, staying involved in the action, and leaving his mark on possession after possession.
Whether it was a timely bucket, a strong take, or staying active around the play, Duke consistently imposed himself on the game. It was a performance built on confidence, skill, and edge, the kind that shows he can take over when it matters most and becomes a real problem to slow down once he gets rolling.
Duke’s biggest improvement from last season has been letting the game slow down and trusting the right play. Relying on teammates, taking the right shot instead of forcing one, and staying connected to the flow has elevated his efficiency and overall impact. His goals this season are to push for another conference title, a deep state run as a team, and continuing to score at a high level while making efficient plays on both ends of the court as he chases the school scoring record.
Faith plays a huge role in how Duke handles adversity and pressure. When tough moments hit, he trusts God, leans into his belief, and stays grounded in the understanding that things work out when effort, discipline, and belief stay aligned. That foundation helps him stay composed, focused, and resilient through every high and low the game brings.
Duke also feeds off connections. What fuels him most is seeing his team locked in together, whether it is a hustle play, a selfless pass, or everyone pulling in the same direction. That shared energy pushes him to play harder and reminds him that winning is built on playing for each other, not individual moments.
He currently holds offers from Simpson, Ozarks, Hendrix, Webster, and Southwestern Christian University, with his play continuing to demand attention through production, winning, and confidence.
I assess that Duke’s ability to score efficiently, make the right reads, and stay aggressive without forcing action gives him real value for a college program looking for reliable offense and steady presence. His combination of shot creation, vision, and rebounding pressure can tilt defensive game plans and open opportunities for everyone on the floor.
Moving forward, expect Duke to keep stacking impactful performances built on patience, confidence, and trust in his game. As his efficiency continues to match his scoring mindset, his impact only grows. He shows the makeup of a guard ready for bigger moments, tougher matchups, and sustained success. Stay tuned to see how high he flies.
