Riley wants Shawnee to feel his presence every time the defense steps onto the field. At 6-foot-3 and 215 pounds, he is a linebacker who describes his game as fast and physical. He takes pride in the force he brings when he meets a runner, and his speed helps him get there before a play can get away from the Wolves.

Through four games this season, Riley has 40 tackles, including 25 solo stops, and 3 sacks. He's shown that he can finish a play himself or get into the backfield and reach the quarterback. Riley likes the start he has made, but his focus is on what he can do for his team in the games still ahead.

His biggest improvement since last season has been his speed. Riley also built strength during the offseason, giving him more power when he meets a blocker and a quicker path to the ball. He plans to keep working in the weight room and add more size, knowing he still has time to develop his game.

Riley’s goal is to help Shawnee reach the playoffs and bring home a championship trophy. A coach can expect him to play at full speed, bring fierce physicality on every snap, and keep looking for a way to make a play. That approach gives the Wolves an active presence in the middle of their defense.

Riley can make his early-down stops especially valuable by putting offenses in longer-yardage situations. Those plays give the rest of the defense more freedom to attack and help Shawnee control the pace of a drive.

As Riley grows, his voice before the snap could become another strength for the Wolves. Helping teammates adjust when an offense changes its formation will add to the impact he already makes when the ball is in play.
