Friday nights become a whole lot tougher when this versatile playmaker steps onto the field. His game is built on explosive athleticism, fierce physicality, and a relentless drive to make the next big play. Whether he is flying downhill to fill an alley, delivering a violent hit, locking down receivers in coverage, or flipping the field on special teams, he attacks every snap with purpose. He describes himself as a versatile, explosive playmaker, and that identity shows up all over the field because he refuses to be limited to just one job. His speed, instincts, and physical style allow him to impact every phase of the game while bringing an electric spark that fuels the entire defense.
His sophomore season was the reward for countless hours of hard work long before the lights came on. In 12 games, he piled up 74 total tackles, including 62 solo stops, 12 assisted tackles, 8 tackles for loss, 1 interception, and 6 pass breakups while adding 284 all-purpose yards and a touchdown. Those numbers earned him First Team All-District, First Team All-Metro, Second Team All-Metro as a kick returner, and Second Team All-State honors, showing just how valuable he became on both defense and special teams. Every award showed his consistency, but the memories that stand out most came from helping his team defeat La Cueva for the first time in years and taking a punt return all the way to the end zone for his only touchdown of the season. Those moments were more than highlights because they represented the hard work, sacrifice, and dedication that had been building throughout the offseason.
What separates him from other defensive backs is the rare combination of physicality and athletic ability he brings every week. When the run comes his direction, he attacks downhill with relentless intent and isn't afraid to meet ball carriers in the hole. When the ball is in the air, his speed and movement allow him to stay stride for stride with receivers while making plays on the football. That ability to be equally dangerous against the run and pass makes him one of the most complete defenders on the field.
Every big play starts before the snap. He studies the down, distance, formation, and personnel to get a better idea of what might be coming next. Those quick reads help him play even faster because he trusts what he sees before the ball is ever snapped. Combinepp⁰pm that football IQ with explosive athleticism, and it becomes easy to understand why he is constantly around the football.
One of the biggest improvements in his game came through his ability to cover receivers and make plays on the ball. He also became much better at shedding blocks, allowing him to stay involved in every play instead of getting tied up at the line of scrimmage. None of that growth came easily because he battled through an ankle sprain during the season. Instead of letting the injury slow him down, he fought through it and continued finding ways to help his team every Friday night.
The behind-the-scenes work is where his game continues to separate itself. Two workouts every day have become part of his routine, but the work doesn't stop when the training ends. Recovery is treated with just as much importance because he understands that is where the body rebuilds and gets stronger. Every workout, every recovery session, and every extra rep has one purpose: preparing him to perform at the highest level when the season begins.
This offseason has one clear focus. He wants to become faster and stronger, and to continue growing his football IQ, because he knows there is always another level to reach. Those improvements are designed to make an already dangerous game even more explosive. His goals go far beyond personal numbers because he wants to help his team finish what it started and capture everything that slipped away a season ago.
Every coach can expect a player who is completely locked in from the opening kickoff until the final whistle. Whether the scoreboard favors his team or not, his effort never changes. He competes with relentless energy, embraces coaching, and always puts the team ahead of himself. Looking toward this upcoming season, expect an even bigger, faster, and more explosive athlete making game-changing plays on both sides of the football while delivering in clutch moments when his team needs him the most. His message to the rest of the state is simple. Last season created the hunger, and this season is about chasing everything that was left on the table.
I assess that he is a dynamic two-way football player whose versatility, physicality, and explosive athleticism allow him to impact every phase of the game. His ability to defend the run, cover receivers, create turnovers, and contribute on special teams makes him a complete playmaker. His relentless work ethic and willingness to battle through adversity continue pushing his game to another level.
He brings the kind of energy every defense wants, leading the charge. His violent downhill style, improving coverage skills, football IQ, and team-first mentality make him a difference-maker every time he steps on the field. As he continues getting faster, stronger, and more polished, expect him to build on an already outstanding sophomore season while establishing himself as one of the top defensive backs in his class. Stay tuned.
