Gavin is an electric combo guard who's become one of the toughest covers around because he can hurt defenses in so many different ways. Deep threes, tough pull-ups, smooth pace changes, strong finishes, playmaking reads, and pest-like defense all come together with confidence and a fearless scoring mentality that never seems rattled by the moment.

In his own words, Gavin sees himself as a threat from all three levels offensively while also being a pest defensively. That combination has made him such a difficult matchup because defenders cannot relax for even a second. If they crowd him too tightly, he attacks. If they back off, he lets it fly. If they force help defense, he makes the right read and punishes mistakes. His offensive versatility continues to open up every layer of his game.

What Gavin takes the most pride in is his shot-making ability, not just making open shots but creating space, getting to spots, and hitting difficult looks under pressure. That is the part of scoring he values most because it takes confidence, repetition, and composure to consistently make shots when defenses know exactly what you want to do. Gavin has spent countless hours sharpening that side of his game, and during live period, it exploded in a major way.

This past weekend in Ohio turned into a massive statement for Gavin and BIG 3. After a strong high school season at Richmond, Gavin carried that momentum directly into AAU and helped BIG 3 go 3-1 during live period competition. Throughout the weekend, he averaged 19 points per game while consistently filling it up against strong competition. Deep balls started falling, tough shots were dropping, and the offensive rhythm never seemed forced. Gavin explained that the biggest reason everything clicked was because he allowed the game to come naturally within the flow of the offense instead of hunting numbers.

The best scorers understand when to attack, when to move the ball, and when to let the game unfold naturally instead of forcing action every possession. Gavin played free, confident, and under control while still remaining aggressive. That balance helped him become one of the most dangerous offensive players in the gym throughout the weekend.

What makes his offensive game even tougher to guard is his ability to impact possessions both on and off the ball. Gavin loves the versatility of being able to hurt teams in multiple ways because defenses constantly throw different looks throughout a game. Some teams trap, some switch, some try to force isolation basketball, while others crowd shooters and clog driving lanes. Gavin embraces all of it because his ability to score, create, and make smart reads allows him to stay effective no matter what defensive approach teams try to use against him.

The season was not without adversity, though. Just three games into his junior season, Gavin suffered an injury to his shooting wrist. For a scorer, especially one that takes so much pride in shot-making, that type of injury can become mentally exhausting as much as physically painful. There were battles mentally and physically throughout the recovery process, but Gavin leaned heavily on his faith during that difficult stretch. According to him, God helped carry him through the adversity, and he returned hungrier than ever once he got healthy again.

One of the biggest improvements Gavin believes he has made since high school season has been defensively. AAU basketball forced him to learn how to guard better players, quicker guards, stronger scorers, and more athletic competition overall. That experience sharpened his defensive intensity while helping him become a much more complete player on both ends of the floor.

Gavin’s main goal this offseason is to get stronger in the weight room while continuing to elevate every part of his game. He wants to keep building momentum throughout the Under Armor circuit, continue producing at a high level, and pick up college offers during the summer. The confidence, scoring ability, and hunger are all there. Now it becomes about stacking consistency and continuing to grow.

When coaches walk into the gym to watch Gavin, they should expect competitiveness, versatility, and a player willing to do whatever it takes to help his team win. Yes, he is a natural scorer that can completely change games offensively, but he also embraces making winning plays, defending, creating for teammates, and competing possession after possession.

I assess that Gavin is an electric offensive combo guard with strong three-level scoring ability and impressive shot-making instincts. His confidence with the basketball, ability to create tough shots, and offensive versatility immediately stand out. He scores naturally within the flow of the offense while also showing the ability to make smart reads and impact games beyond scoring. Defensively, his intensity and willingness to compete continue improving rapidly.

Gavin’s offensive skill set makes him extremely difficult to guard because of how comfortable he is both on and off the basketball. His ability to create shots, score from deep, and punish defenses in multiple ways gives him tremendous value offensively. The improvement he has made defensively, combined with his competitiveness and willingness to impact winning, has elevated his overall game even more.
