Kellen is a powerful inside-out threat who brings a complete and competitive edge every time he steps on the floor. His ability to score in multiple ways makes him one of the most intriguing young guards in his class. He has the size to finish strong at the rim, the quickness to create separation, and the shooting touch to rain threes with confidence. His outside shot opens up the floor, and his improved strength lets him attack the lane with purpose. Defensively, he brings relentless effort and pride. Kellen wants to be the hardest worker on both sides of the ball and plays with a motor that elevates everyone around him.

This past season, he averaged 11.2 points, 4.7 rebounds, 3 assists, and 2.1 steals per game while hitting 41 threes and earning all-conference honorable mention. His biggest improvement came in his ability to get to the hoop, using increased size and speed to finish in traffic and create more pressure on defenses. His ball handling improved significantly, both on the open floor and on the half-court, helping him become a more complete playmaker.

At the Tri-State Tournament in Winona, Kellen put together his strongest stretch of basketball yet. He averaged 19.5 points per game with a high of 23 while also grabbing 7 rebounds per game. He helped lead his team to a 3-0 record and proved he can produce at a high level when the competition and intensity rise. His scoring efficiency, rebounding effort, and poise stood out the entire event and showed what he is capable of moving into the next season.

His next area of focus is developing a consistent middy to add another weapon to his scoring versatility. One of the most impactful parts of his season was gaining valuable varsity experience at point guard in one of the toughest conferences in Wisconsin. It taught him how to lead, how to handle pressure, and how to compete against high-level athletes every night.

Kellen’s fiercest rival is Prescott, a team Somerset has not beaten in a long time. That matchup fuels him and sharpens his preparation. Coaches can expect positive leadership, a strong work ethic, and full effort every time he steps onto the court. He prides himself on being coachable and dependable. Big three pointers in tight games light a fire in him, bringing out the edge that defines his competitive identity.

When facing adversity, Kellen powers through it. He refuses to let frustration or external factors affect how he plays. The best coaching advice he has ever received is to never allow someone else to control his game. Off the court, he enjoys spending time with family and friends and continues to excel as a multi-sport athlete. He started varsity baseball as a freshman and was the starting quarterback for the football team this year. His long-term goal is to play college basketball, and he already has schools showing interest as he prepares for a breakout junior season.

I assess that Kellen offers a strong combination of scoring ability, toughness, athletic growth, and defensive effort that fits naturally into a college program. His outside shooting, improved finishing, and willingness to compete give him the tools to contribute at the next level. He plays with maturity, leadership, and consistency, bringing value to both ends of the court.
