Alan is a versatile weapon built to impact every inch of the court with skill, strength, and basketball IQ. He thrives as a dynamic scorer, fierce rebounder, and reliable leader. He is a smooth shooter both off the catch and off the dribble; he can punish defenses from deep, pull up for a punishing middy, or finish strong inside with a fierce post game. He uses his size to mix it up on the boards at a high level, block shots, and score over smaller defenders, while also creating scoring opportunities for teammates with his vision and feel for the game. His craftiness allows him to score at all three levels, while his relentless effort on defense makes him a dependable force for any coach. Alan does it all, shoots, dribbles, rebounds, defends, and does it with a nonstop motor.
This past AAU season, Alan took his game to another level, averaging around 23 points and 14 rebounds per game in a dominant performance at the Chi Town Tip-Off. His production was steady throughout AAU and carried into school summer ball, where he averaged around 20 points per game for the summer as a whole.. During the high school season, he averaged 5 points and 3 rebounds per game, but his growth since then has been massive. His biggest improvement wasn’t just skill-based; it was his mindset. Once too passive at times, he now attacks with aggression and confidence, leading to the breakout summer. Winning the district championship this past season was his most impactful moment, proving to him that effort, leadership, and belief can push a team to new heights.
Alan’s AAU goals were to average over 20 points per game, gain college interest, and help his team win. He accomplished them all, becoming a consistent force who dominated both ends of the floor. Coaches know they can expect a player they can trust, who scores, rebounds, facilitates, and hustles every possession. What fires him up most is simply the love for the game, competing, playing basketball, and leaving it all out there. He thrives when his team goes on runs, doing whatever it takes to spark momentum and close out wins.
When facing adversity, Alan lets his game do the talking, trusts his work, and pushes even harder. The best coaching advice he’s received is, “No one cares about excuses; they care if you win or lose, so don’t make excuses, just work harder”. He plays with accountability and grit. He looks forward to leading Troy Athens next season, stepping into the role of main playmaker and pushing his team toward more championships. Off the court, he enjoys spending time with family and friends. But his passion for the game never fades.
I assess that Alan’s mix of size, skill, and motor makes him a complete player who can impact winning in countless ways. His ability to score at all three levels, dominate the glass, and facilitate for teammates gives him rare versatility for his size. Coaches will find in him not just a player, but a competitor whose effort and leadership raise the level of everyone around him.
Alan is poised for a breakout season and continued growth as one of Michigan’s rising prospects in his. With his aggressive mindset, relentless work ethic, and love for the game, he is only scratching the surface of his potential. Expect him to continue putting up big numbers in AAU and school ball, while emerging as a leader who carries his team to new heights. Stay tuned.
