Edwards is a triple threat scoring machine. He has the size to absorb contact and still finish strong to the hoop.  He has a nasty pull-up and he is deadly from mid-range.  Once he hits the seams, it's trouble for defenders. He can pull up on a dime with little to no space and can absolutely make it rain. He is also a fierce defender.

This past season Talan averaged 16.4, points, 1.5 assists , 3.3, rebounds and 1.1 steals while shooting 51%, DG and  40% from three point land. He has put in a tremendous amount of work, and it is showing in all facets of his overall game. This kid just absolutely loves everything about the game. One of his biggest goals going into this upcoming season is for his team to win the Tarkanian Classic. For him personally, he wants to stand out as much as possible and show coaches just exactly what he is capable of doing. The kid is a total hustler, diving for every loose ball. He is a great teammate who fires up everyone around him. He has been working hard to try to improve his 3pt % for this upcoming season.

On the court, this kid plays with heart and confidence. He is extremely competitive, and he has an immense passion for the game. He flat out said “There may be players who are better than I am, but no one will ever outwork me. I am always thinking three plays ahead.”

This kid is calm, cool and collected when the pressure is on, and the heat is turned up.  He fully understands that sometimes the shots are just not going in, but he doesn’t allow that to rattle him or mentally break him. He fully trusts in the process and he trusts in all the hard work he has put in. Suddenly, those shots start going in. It is like clockwork.

When asked what a coach can expect from him, he said “A player that is going to give you 100%, and always bring high energy.  I am level headed, respectful and I will always be a leader for my team.”

He knows he has room for improvement, and he is absolutely willing to put in the work to get better. My personal assessment is with his relentless work ethic on the court, and having that “scorer mentality” as well as just being a flat out DOG, he can absolutely play on the D1 level. You can’t teach heart and you can’t teach work ethic!
