North Laurel HS, KY

AAU: Midwest Basketball Club

Reece is a fierce, versatile combo player and a triple-threat sniper with a high basketball IQ. He possesses a silky smooth touch from the perimeter and thrives as a heady shooter who can attack off the bounce for a sweet middy or finish effectively at the rim. Reece’s unselfishness stands out; he prioritizes creating opportunities for his teammates and values team success above individual accolades. Reece’s rebounding ability and defensive versatility make him a key presence on both ends of the court, while his focus remains on winning.

Reece is determined to refine his craft, focusing on getting his shot off quicker and improving his ball-handling this season. Over the past year, Reece's biggest improvement was increasing his strength by putting in intense work in the weight room and attention to diet. This added strength, combined with his commitment to improvement, has elevated his presence on the court and allowed him to become an even more impactful player.

Reece’s goals for this season are to win the regional championship and earn a spot in the state tournament at Rupp Arena. Reece's biggest accomplishment was on a personal level, which had a special meaning for him, playing in Rupp Arena alongside his older brother Ryan Davidson and cousin Reed Sheppard in a previous season. Reece acknowledges the challenges of reaching this goal but believes teamwork and unity will be the keys to success.

When it comes to big games, South Laurel is the matchup Reece anticipates the most. As crosstown rivals, the games are always electric, with the community rallying behind them. Reece thrives in these intense atmospheres, where the energy of the crowd fuels his performance.

Reece’s mentality on and off the court is centered on effort, attitude, and winning. Facing adversity, he views challenges as disguised opportunities and focuses on maintaining composure and positivity. The best advice Reece was ever given is "Control what you can—your effort and attitude."

Off the court, Reece enjoys fishing and golfing, which provide a balance to his intense basketball schedule. As he looks ahead, he’s determined not to place limits on himself. His ultimate goal is to reach his full potential and contribute where he is most needed.
