Josh is the definition of a complete guard. He’s a fierce competitor who brings it all: three-level scoring, strong rebounding, unselfish playmaking, gritty on-ball defense, and unmatched intensity. He’s dangerous with the ball in his hands but just as impactful without it. Whether he’s crashing the glass, locking down his opponent, finding an open shooter, or hitting a middy in rhythm, Josh plays every possession like it matters, because to him, it does. He knows how to read the floor, break down defenders, set the tone, and lead with heart. A vocal teammate and physical guard, he lifts those around him and makes winning plays in every category.
His junior year was nothing short of explosive. Josh averaged 26.7 points, 6.4 rebounds, 3.3 assists, and 2.2 steals per game while shooting a blistering 61% from the floor and 79% from the free throw line. He led Lancaster Christian Academy to a 25-4 record and a district title, earning TSIAA Mr. Basketball and All-District honors along the way. According to MaxPreps, he ranked #4 overall and was the #1 junior scorer in the state of Tennessee, and led the state’s top 30 scorers in field goal percentage. But the moment that meant the most was scoring his 1000th career point on November 12, 2024. That milestone was a celebration of the years of dedication that built the foundation for his all-around game.
Josh’s transformation came when he unlocked his midrange. Once that became a go-to weapon, defenders had no answer; he could score at all three levels, draw help, and make smart reads. His ability to rebound from the guard spot and generate second chances made him even harder to take off the floor. He brought that same all-around fire to the AAU circuit with Pro One Select TN, scoring 28 points per game at Music City Madness, 19 points per game at Best of the South, and 30 in a statement game at BOTS. Along the way, he earned multiple elite camp invites and picked up his first college offer from Welch College.
Offseason goals are to extend his range, improve his left-hand finishing, and continue evolving as a creator and defender. Josh is hungry to elevate, not just for himself, but for his team. He’s fired up by rival games and pressure moments, thrives when the stakes rise, and always gives his all. He’s the type of player who cheers just as hard as he scores and leads calmly in adversity. The best advice he ever received, from his dad, was, "Never fear anyone. Be confident no matter who you’re playing."
Senior year is coming quickly, and Josh just wants to hoop. He’s excited to lead, to grow, and to give everything he has to the game he loves. Off the court, he enjoys time with family, friends, Xbox, and downtime at the house. But when it’s time to compete, there’s nothing casual about him. He flips the switch and turns into a relentless problem for every opponent.
I assess that Josh Whitt is more than a scorer; he’s a complete, battle-tested guard who can lead a team in every phase of the game. His combination of toughness, IQ, rebounding, playmaking, and scoring efficiency makes him a high-value prospect ready to impact any college roster from day one.
Expect Josh to dominate his senior year with even more maturity and poise. As his skill set continues to expand and his confidence rises, he’ll keep earning offers and turning heads. He’s a total-package guard with the game, heart, and mindset to keep rising. Stay tuned
