Dexter brings a complete offensive bag to the floor every time he steps on the court. His ability to stretch the floor with his shooting immediately grabs attention, but his game goes much deeper than making jumpers. He handles the ball with confidence, sees plays before they develop, delivers crisp dimes, and consistently makes smart decisions with the basketball. His high basketball IQ allows him to play under control while reading defenses and taking what they give him instead of forcing difficult shots. Add in his growing strength and willingness to attack off the bounce, and Dexter continues to become an even tougher matchup every time he steps between the lines.

One of the biggest improvements in his development came through his physical strength, especially when attacking the basket. That added strength has allowed him to finish through contact with greater confidence and play a more physical brand of basketball without taking away from the smooth offensive skill set that already made him successful. While he is proud of that progress, Dexter knows there is still another level waiting for him. His primary offseason focus is improving his overall athleticism while continuing to become a more explosive downhill finisher. Rather than settling for where he is today, he is focused on building a more complete game that impacts every possession.

This past year gave Dexter plenty to celebrate. Winning a district championship with his high school team created one of the most memorable moments of his young career, while earning Associated Press All-State and Detroit Free Press All-State honors recognized the work he has put into becoming one of Michigan's rising stars. His success continued into the AAU season, where he helped Grand Rapids Storm UAA capture the prestigious Bill Hensley Run-N-Slam 16U championship. Competing and winning with talented teammates against strong competition only added another chapter to an already impressive year filled with growth and confidence.

Competition has never been something Dexter shies away from. In fact, it fuels him. The players ranked ahead of him provide motivation every day, pushing him to continue improving instead of becoming comfortable. That competitive edge drives his workouts, his practices, and his performances on the court because he wants every opportunity to prove that his game belongs among the best.

Basketball isn't the only place where Dexter has found success. He has continued playing varsity baseball during both his first- and second-year student seasons, earning All-Conference and All-District honors as an infielder each year. Playing multiple sports has helped him continue developing his athletic ability while elevating the competitive mindset that carries over every time he steps onto the basketball court.

Like every athlete, Dexter has faced moments of adversity, but his approach has remained steady. Instead of focusing on things outside of his control, he chooses to concentrate on what he can and keeps moving forward. That mindset has allowed him to continue growing through every challenge while staying committed to his long-term goals instead of getting distracted by temporary obstacles.

Looking ahead, Dexter has his sights set on continuing his basketball journey at the college level. The recruiting process is still in its early stages, but he is embracing every opportunity that comes his way while continuing to improve his game each day. With his combination of skill, size, IQ, and work ethic, he continues building a foundation that should attract more attention as his high school career progresses.

I assess that Dexter is a skilled offensive weapon who combines perimeter shooting, ball-handling, passing ability, and outstanding court awareness into a well-rounded package. His improving physical strength has made him much more effective attacking the basket, while his willingness to continue developing his athleticism shows a maturity beyond his years. His success in both high school and AAU basketball reflects his ability to contribute to winning at a high level.

Dexter's future is bright because his game continues expanding instead of remaining one-dimensional. His feel for the game, decision-making, and offensive versatility already give him a strong foundation, and continued growth as an athlete should unlock even more production on both ends of the floor. As he continues stacking accomplishments and gaining recruiting exposure, expect his stick keep rise.
