6'1, Class of 2028

Vista PEAK Prep, CO

Marco plays the game with confidence, toughness, and a team-first mindset that shows up on every possession. He describes himself as a smart, competitive athlete who always looks to make the right play before anything else. Whether he is attacking off the bounce, creating for a teammate, or making a shot from any level, his focus stays on helping his team succeed. His versatility allows him to score in different ways while guarding multiple positions on the other end of the floor. That complete approach to the game, combined with his poise and willingness to do the little things, makes him a player coaches can trust in every situation.

This past season was all about growth. Marco made a huge jump from playing on the sophomore team as a freshman to earning All-Conference Honorable Mention as a sophomore. While averaging 8 points, 2 rebounds, and 1.5 steals per game, he embraced his role and found ways to impact winning beyond just scoring. Some of his biggest moments came in close games where timely defensive plays helped change the outcome. Those experiences gave him confidence and showed how valuable he could be on both ends of the floor. This summer, he has continued that progress with Colorado Magic 16U and 17U, competing against strong competition while continuing to sharpen every part of his game.

Colorado Live became another important step in Marco's development. He put together an outstanding performance against Palmer with 16 points, 7 rebounds, and 5 assists while showing his ability to affect the game in several different ways. More importantly, the event reminded him what Vista PEAK Prep is capable of when everyone communicates, trusts one another, and plays together. Personally, he learned that he doesn't have to force the action. When he stays patient and trusts the work he has put in, the game naturally comes to him. It also reinforced that making winning plays, defending, rebounding, and creating for teammates can be just as important as putting points on the scoreboard.

One of Marco's biggest improvements this year came through his decision-making and leadership. He has become more comfortable keeping teammates engaged, encouraging them during difficult moments, and making better decisions with the basketball. The biggest challenge was learning how to stay mentally locked in every night. Consistency doesn't happen by accident, and developing that mindset has helped him become a more dependable player every time he steps onto the court.

Rankings and reputations never change Marco's approach. When he faces well-known players, his confidence stays the same because he believes in the work he has put in. Every matchup is another opportunity to compete, challenge himself, and show he belongs against the best. His focus stays on winning, not on who is standing across from him.

The behind-the-scenes work has become the foundation of Marco's growth. He spends countless hours in the gym working on his shot, tightening his handles, getting stronger, and studying film to better understand the game. This offseason, his biggest focus is becoming a more complete point guard while continuing to grow as a leader. His goals are to win with Colorado Magic, earn more exposure, and continue proving he belongs among the top guards in his class. Every workout is another step toward those goals.

Every coach can expect a player who competes, listens, communicates, and puts winning first. Marco brings energy, stays composed under pressure, defends with purpose, and is willing to do whatever his team needs. Looking ahead, expect a hungry Vista PEAK Prep team that believes it can compete with anyone. Marco plans to continue growing as a leader while helping his team make a deep postseason run and continue putting Vista PEAK Prep on the map.

I assess that Marco is a versatile two-way guard who impacts winning in many different ways. His ability to score, defend multiple positions, make smart decisions, and lead with confidence makes him valuable on both ends of the floor. His steady growth as a leader and floor general continues raising the level of his game.

Marco brings toughness, basketball IQ, and a team-first approach every time he competes. He understands how to control the game without forcing the action and continues improving through consistent work behind the scenes. As his leadership and all-around game continue to grow, expect Marco to become an even bigger difference-maker for Vista PEAK Prep. Stay tuned.
