Tyson is a smooth, composed assassin on the floor, long, efficient, and unselfish, with a game that punishes opponents on both ends. He’s a true two-way threat with elite instincts, capable of locking down ball-handlers with his length and lateral quickness while rotating with purpose on help-side defense. Offensively, he impacts the game at every level, raining shots from deep, creating off the bounce, and finishing through contact at the rim. His court vision and decision-making reflect a high basketball IQ, and he knows how to get his teammates involved with smart reads and timely passes. Whether he’s guarding multiple positions, spacing the floor, or setting the tone with his energy, Tyson plays with controlled intensity and an unshakable drive to compete.
He’s fresh off a 19-point performance at Bleacher Republic Nationals, leading Midwest Flyers Daley to a 76-69 win behind his confident stroke and efficient offensive game. In four AAU weekends this spring, Tyson consistently elevated his play, achieving his goals of gaining exposure and evolving his skillset. Last season at Edgewood, he averaged 11.7 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 2.3 assists while showing flashes of what’s coming. His biggest improvement has been his on-ball defense and ability to finish at the rim. Now, he’s focused on expanding his off-the-dribble playmaking, adding strength, and becoming a tougher, more explosive creator. With his final high school seasons still ahead, Tyson is focused on helping his team win a league championship and making a deep playoff run.
He plays with composure through adversity, keeping calm and staying present on every play. Tyson's biggest motivation is winning for his teammates. Whether it’s flying around on defense or hitting a dagger three, he’s the kind of player who impacts the game without ever needing to say a word. Off the court, he enjoys golfing, hanging with friends, and supporting his school at sporting events.
I assess that Tyson’s skill set, size, and work ethic make him a high-ceiling guard who can contribute early at the next level. Coaches looking for a smart, coachable, and versatile two-way player with a complete game should be paying attention.
As he continues to fill out his frame and improve his off-the-bounce play, Tyson is moving toward becoming one of the most dangerous and dependable guards in his class. Expect a breakout year ahead as he carries his strong AAU spring into a monster school season.
