Bennett is a versatile nightmare who uses his size, strength, and athleticism to create matchup problems every time he steps on the court. He can play any position, run an offense with poise, handle the ball well for his size, and finish at the rim through traffic. His bag is filled with a little bit of everything, and that versatility makes him dangerous no matter where he is on the floor. A glue guy by nature, he takes pride in being the one who rebounds, defends, dives on the floor, and makes the hustle plays others shy away from. That combination of versatility and toughness is what separates him from the rest.
The biggest improvement in his game has been confidence. In the past, Bennett would sometimes pass up shots, but now he trusts the work he’s put in and steps into his moments without hesitation. His focus has been on reading defenders better, knowing which go-to moves to use and when, and improving his overall shot selection. While shooting will always be an area of continued development, he’s putting in the work to grow in that area. One of the most impactful parts of his offseason came with his mom, who has been by his side at workouts, rebounding for him and supporting his grind, a reminder of just how much family fuels his growth.
A coach can expect Bennett to play hard every single possession. Rebounding and defense are his foundation, and he has always been strong in those areas. He gets fired up after a big defensive stop, a block, or a rebound in crunch time, and those moments drive his energy to another level. His AAU goal this past summer was to regain his confidence and trust in his skill set, and he achieved exactly that, proving to himself and others that his hard work is paying off. Off the court, Bennett enjoys spending time outdoors fishing, hunting, working out, and riding horses in the summer, a balance of grit and grounded focus that carries into the way he approaches basketball.
I assess that Bennett’s versatility and competitive drive make him a weapon for any program. His ability to rebound, defend, and handle multiple roles gives him the kind of value that coaches can plug into a system immediately. The toughness, confidence, and hustle he brings ensure he will always make an impact, even when he isn’t the one scoring.
As he continues to develop his shot selection, shooting consistency, and offensive decision-making, Bennett has all the tools to take a major step forward. His confidence is rising, his skill set is expanding, and his under-the-radar status won’t last long. Expect him to establish himself as he keeps working to get his name known across the state and beyond. Stay tuned.
