"The Powerful Playmaker With a Complete Two-Way Game"

6'3, Class of 2027

Jacksonville HS, TX

Ben brings far more to the floor than simply putting points on the scoreboard. While his elite shot-making immediately grabs your attention, his complete skill set is what truly separates him. He is a dynamic three-level scorer who can consistently make shots off the bounce, fly off screens, and stretch defenses with unlimited range, but he has also developed into a physical finisher who attacks through contact and welcomes the tough plays around the basket. His improved ball-handling allows him to create offense and comfortably run the point when needed, while his on-ball defense has become another strength that impacts winning. Add in his high basketball IQ, strong rebounding, willingness to make the right decisions, and relentless energy from whistle to whistle, and Ben has become a complete two-way playmaker capable of impacting every part of the game. Every possession is played with toughness, confidence, and an edge that makes him one of the most difficult matchups on the floor.

His junior season Ben averaged 20.5 points, 6.8 rebounds, and 2.5 assists per game while continuing to establish himself as one of the most dangerous offensive threats in his area. Although his team narrowly missed the postseason, one moment stands above the rest. Joining the 1,000-point club in less than two varsity seasons became a memory he will never forget, especially considering he missed his entire freshman year because of an injury. Even more impressive, he is now just 600 points away from becoming his school's all-time leading scorer. Instead of spending the summer playing AAU basketball, Ben made a decision that reflected his long-term vision. Rather than joining a situation that didn't fit the way he wanted to grow, he stayed committed to the gym, the weight room, and individual development, believing that investing in himself would pay greater dividends than simply playing games.

That commitment has already transformed his game. Ben believes his biggest improvements came as an on-ball defender, ball handler, and finisher around the basket. Becoming stronger has also changed the way he plays. Adding 15 pounds in only four months has allowed him to absorb contact, finish through defenders, and play with even greater confidence. His development has turned him into much more than an outside shooter, giving him the ability to create offense in a variety of ways while continuing to become a more complete player.

Ben's biggest challenge came from competing in one of the toughest 5A districts around despite attending a much smaller school. Night after night, his team battled larger programs, yet they never backed down from the challenge. Those experiences strengthened the entire group and helped lay the foundation for an outstanding offseason. Their 34-5 summer record, along with strong performances at Louisiana Tech Camp, ETBU Camp, and TABC, showed just how much that adversity helped prepare them for what lies ahead.

The offseason has been about taking every weakness and turning it into another strength. Ben has spent countless hours developing more explosiveness while continuing to build his strength because he knows he must use his physicality to create advantages against every opponent he faces. At the same time, he has focused heavily on finishing through contact and tightening his ball-handling skills so he can comfortably slide into the point guard role whenever needed. Those improvements will allow him to beat face guards, bring the ball up the floor himself, and create scoring opportunities without relying on anyone else.

The work behind the scenes is anything but ordinary. Every morning begins with 400 made shots before heading to school workouts that include the weight room, conditioning on the track, and basketball skill development. After that, Ben heads to another workout with his trainer to elevate his ability to score off the bounce before finishing the day by lifting weights again. It is a demanding routine built on discipline, consistency, and sacrifice. Fueling that daily grind is the belief that there are players receiving more attention despite him knowing he can compete with anyone. Instead of allowing that to become a source of frustration, he uses it as motivation, trusting God's plan and believing everything will happen exactly when it is supposed to.

That same confidence carries over whenever he faces highly ranked opponents. Ben never walks onto the floor intimidated because, in his mind, everyone puts their shoes on the same way. They breathe the same air, they bleed the same, so why not him? That fearless confidence allows him to attack every matchup with the belief that he belongs, no matter who is standing across from him.

As he prepares for his senior season, Ben is determined to have his best year yet. Coaches can expect a player who makes winning decisions, competes with intensity on the defensive end, works relentlessly from the opening tip until the final buzzer, and embraces both leadership and accountability. Combined with his expanded offensive bag, physical strength, and relentless drive to improve, expect Ben to make another huge leap while continuing his chase toward becoming his school's all-time leading scorer.

I assess that Ben is an explosive offensive weapon whose impact goes well beyond scoring. His ability to shoot from deep, create off the bounce, handle the ball, rebound, defend, play through contact, and make smart decisions gives him tremendous value on both ends of the floor. His work ethic and willingness to prioritize long-term development over short-term exposure continue to separate him from the crowd.

Ben's ceiling continues to rise because he refuses to become comfortable. Every offseason goal is designed to expand his game, making him more versatile and more difficult to defend. His confidence, toughness, faith, and relentless daily routine create a strong foundation for continued success. With another year of physical development and an expanded playmaking role, expect Ben to produce another outstanding season while positioning himself for opportunities at the next level. Stay tuned.
