Every time Troi Boshears steps on the floor, opponents are forced into an impossible choice. Take away the outside shot, and she attacks off the bounce with confidence and strength. Sag off, and she can bring the rain from deep. Try to speed her up, and she calmly picks apart the defense with smart decisions and winning plays. Her game is built on versatility, toughness, and a high basketball IQ that allows her to impact every corner of the game. While scoring certainly grabs attention, what truly separates Troi is her willingness to do whatever her team needs at any given moment. Whether that means lighting up the scoreboard, crashing the boards, creating extra possessions, or making hustle plays that never show up in a box score, she embraces every role with the same team-first mentality.
This past season was filled with memorable moments and historic accomplishments. Troi played a major role in helping lead Kingston to a Region Championship and helping the Lady Jackets break a 36-year drought by reaching the Substate round. Along the way, she earned All-Region Tournament honors while consistently delivering when the stakes were highest. One of her biggest performances came against Soddy Daisy when she had 21 points while adding 5 steals, 5 rebounds, and 2 assists in a hard-fought victory. Against Harriman, she stuffed the stat sheet with 15 points, 10 steals, 7 rebounds, and 5 assists while impacting the game in every possible way. Another standout moment came in the Hammers Classic Championship, where she had 18 points, 7 rebounds, and 5 steals against Anderson County while earning Game MVP honors and helping win the championship. Even in a tough Substate road environment at Gatlinburg-Pittman, Troi battled until the final horn and finished with 15 points in a determined effort that reflected the toughness and competitive fire she brings every night.
Defensively, Troi is a headache that never seems to go away. Her instincts allow her to anticipate plays before they happen, jump passing lanes with purpose, and turn defensive stops into instant offense. She has a knack for creating chaos without gambling, constantly disrupting rhythm and forcing opponents into mistakes. Add in her ability to rebound from the guard position, and suddenly her impact stretches far beyond scoring. She understands positioning, competes for every loose ball, and consistently finds ways to create extra possessions. That complete approach is what makes her so valuable because she influences winning in ways that often go unnoticed until the final score reveals the difference.
Her AAU season has continued to showcase that same adaptability. Despite injuries forcing roster changes and lineup adjustments throughout the spring and summer, Troi has remained a steady presence. While many players measure success by points alone, she has evolved into a player who measures success by wins. Some weekends she scores. Some weekends she rebounds. Some weekends she locks down opponents or does the dirty work that allows teammates to shine. Whatever the situation demands, Troi embraces it. That willingness to sacrifice individual numbers for team success speaks volumes about her maturity and understanding of the game. It is also one of the biggest reasons she continues to stand out during exposure events and competitive showcases.
I assess that Troi is a crafty combo guard whose versatility creates matchup problems all over the floor. Her ability to score from beyond the arc, attack the basket, defend multiple actions, rebound effectively, and create turnovers gives her tremendous value. She plays with confidence, toughness, and an unselfish approach that allows her to impact games whether the ball is in her hands or not. Her instincts and feel for the game consistently place her in position to make winning plays.
Programs looking for players who contribute in every phase of the game will appreciate what Troi brings to the floor. She combines offensive versatility with defensive disruption, strong rebounding habits, and a willingness to embrace whatever role helps her team succeed. Her basketball IQ, competitiveness, and team-first mentality elevate those around her and make her an asset to any team. As her game continues to develop, her ability to affect outcomes in multiple ways gives her the potential to become an even more impactful difference-maker at the next level. Stay tuned.
