Strength, toughness, and a fearless approach define the way Cooper attacks every game. I call him "The Muscle" of Eaton; he embraces the physical side of basketball while bringing an edge that opponents feel from the opening tip. Cooper takes pride in owning the paint, battling for every rebound, protecting the rim, and making sure the offense and defense flow through him. His excellent footwork, creative post moves, and soft touch around the basket make him a difficult matchup on the offensive end, while his instincts, timing, and shot-blocking ability turn the lane into a place opponents often see the "Return to sender" label. Even with all of those skills, Cooper believes his greatest strengths are bringing positive energy, playing with relentless aggression, and doing whatever his team needs to win.

The season came with challenges before it ever had a chance to fully unfold. A broken leg suffered during football practice cut his basketball season in half, forcing him to fight through one of the biggest obstacles of his athletic career. When he returned to the floor, he immediately stepped back into his role as Eaton's force in the paint. Cooper averaged a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds per game while leading the 4A Patriot League in blocked shots with one to two blocks each night. His scoring role was limited at times, but he believes that is changing as he heads into the upcoming season. Instead of spending the postseason sitting on the sidelines, he turned to another sport, competing in track because he never likes being without competition. Cooper doesn't play AAU, choosing instead to stay committed to Eaton through school basketball and summer competition while continuing to build chemistry with the teammates he battles beside throughout the year.

Being a three-sport athlete has become one of Cooper's greatest advantages. Football has given him the toughness and physical mindset needed to battle inside every possession. Track has helped him stay explosive while developing different muscle groups and improving his overall athleticism. Every sport challenges him in a different way, helping him stay healthy, build relationships with teammates in multiple programs, and become a more complete athlete every season.

The biggest improvement Cooper made this year was growing his confidence on the offensive end. He continues developing into a bigger scoring threat while becoming more comfortable looking for his own opportunities around the basket. At the same time, his greatest adversity came from returning after his broken leg and trusting that he could play without hesitation. Learning not to favor the injury took patience, determination, and faith, but he refused to let that setback define his season.

Faith continues to shape every part of Cooper's journey. He believes God gives purpose to everything he experiences, whether it is a victory, a setback, or a lesson learned through adversity. That belief allows him to stay calm during difficult moments because he knows he is never facing those challenges alone. More importantly, Cooper wants his actions to reflect his faith every day so others can see God's impact through the way he competes, treats people, and handles every situation that comes his way.

The work behind the scenes never stops. Every week is filled with weightlifting, open gyms, and as many team games as possible against nearby schools. Every workout is another opportunity to become stronger, sharper, and more prepared for the challenges ahead. His goals are to helping Eaton is chase a state championship, and anything less falls short of what this group believes it can accomplish. Beyond high school, Cooper plans to continue working hard while trusting God to guide whatever opportunities come next.

Colorado Live gave Cooper even more confidence in what Eaton is building. The weekend showed him that this team has grown mentally just as much as physically. He watched his teammates battle through adversity, refuse to quit, and prove they could compete with — and beat — anyone they lined up against. That same confidence carries into every matchup against highly regarded opponents. Cooper never worries about rankings or reputations because, to him, they are simply another team standing on the opposite side of the court. He compares that mindset to David facing Goliath, believing no challenge is too big when his team trusts one another and competes together.

Success has followed Cooper in more than one sport. He helped Eaton reach the football Final Four and later placed ninth in the state in the shot put during track season, proving his athletic ability reaches far beyond the basketball court. Those accomplishments continue building the confidence he carries into every season while reinforcing the work ethic that has helped him succeed year-round.

Every time Cooper steps on the floor, coaches know they are getting maximum effort from the opening tip until the final horn. They can expect a player who leaves everything on the court, battles for every rebound, protects the paint with pride, and never backs away from physical basketball. Eaton faces a demanding schedule this season, but Cooper believes those challenges will only prepare his team for bigger goals ahead. With toughness, chemistry, and belief growing stronger every day, he expects Eaton to keep climbing and put itself among the best teams in the state when the season reaches its biggest moments.

I assess that Cooper is a physical force whose value goes far beyond points and rebounds. His strength, rebounding, rim protection, footwork, passing ability, and willingness to embrace the dirty work make him one of the anchors of Eaton's success. His continued growth as an offensive player only adds another layer to an already impactful game.

Cooper brings toughness, leadership, and a team-first mentality every time he steps on the floor. He controls the paint with his rebounding and shot-blocking, competes with relentless effort, and refuses to let adversity change his approach.
