Corey is the kind of player who makes his impact impossible to ignore. He brings a combination of strength, toughness, athleticism, and skill that allows him to affect the game in nearly every area. He controls the paint on both ends of the floor, attacks the boards with purpose, protects the rim with authority, and still has the ability to step outside and make defenses pay from the perimeter. While many young post players are comfortable staying near the basket, Corey has worked tirelessly to expand his game, becoming a player who can handle the ball, make shots, and create matchup problems all over the floor. His ability to impact winning in so many different ways is what makes him such a valuable piece every time he steps on the court.

Even before his high school career had a chance to fully unfold, Corey was already showing flashes of what makes him special. The area that stands out most to him is his shooting. Countless hours spent working on his outside shot have transformed it into a legitimate weapon. Every extra rep has helped turn a strength into something defenses now have to respect, making him even more difficult to contain.

His freshman season at Whitney High School became a launching point for everything that followed. Corey earned the starting center position on the JV team and immediately embraced whatever role was needed. Early in the season, he spent much of his time around the basket, but it did not take long for his coaches to realize there was much more to his game. As they watched him operate from the perimeter, attack defenders off the bounce, and confidently make shots, they began designing opportunities to showcase those skills. Corey responded by producing one strong performance after another, shooting just under 70 percent from three-point range while consistently making defenses pay for leaving him open. The season finished with a huge win over a first-place rival, and his outstanding play earned him team MVP honors before he received the call-up to varsity for the playoffs.

That momentum carried directly into AAU basketball with Real Hooperz Only, where Corey embraced the challenge of competing against older players. Rather than being intimidated by bigger and more experienced competition, he attacked the challenge head-on. He finished the spring leading his team in rebounds and blocks while ranking second in scoring. Game after game, he proved that toughness, effort, and determination can overcome experience gaps, making his presence felt on both ends of the floor.

One of his most impressive stretches came during the Spring Classic. Knowing he would be battling stronger and older opponents, Corey made rebounding his top priority. The results were eye-opening. He had games of 15 points and 9 rebounds along with another dominant performance of 14 points and 19 rebounds while averaging nearly 11 rebounds per game for the event. Every rebound created another opportunity. Every second chance became another possession for his team. While others focused on points, Corey focused on gobbling up boards and doing the dirty work that leads to winning basketball.

What truly separates Corey from many players his age is not simply his production. It is his mentality. He approaches every opportunity with a hunger to improve and a willingness to learn. His work ethic shows up in the progress he continues to make. His coachability shows up in the way he embraces instruction and applies it immediately. His commitment to excellence extends beyond basketball as well, maintaining a 4.0 GPA while balancing the demands of athletics and academics. The discipline required to succeed in both areas says a great deal about who he is as a young man.

The achievement that stands tallest so far is earning MVP honors during his first high school season in a strong basketball program. That accomplishment represented much more than numbers. It was a reward for the countless hours spent working behind the scenes, improving his game, and earning the trust of his coaches and teammates. It also provided a glimpse of what may be ahead if he continues developing at this pace.

Like many athletes, Corey has faced adversity along the way. Balancing schoolwork, practices, games, and personal expectations is never easy. Maintaining high academic standards while continuing to grow as a basketball player requires sacrifice, discipline, and consistency. Instead of allowing those challenges to become obstacles, he used them as fuel to keep pushing forward.

This offseason, Corey's focus is locked in on becoming stronger, more athletic, and more explosive while continuing to expand every area of his game. He understands that growth never stops and that every offseason creates another opportunity to separate yourself from the competition. Judging by the strides he has already made, there is every reason to believe another leap forward is coming.

When coaches watch Corey compete, they can expect relentless effort, physical play, toughness, and aggression on both ends of the floor. They can expect a player who attacks rebounds, protects the rim, embraces coaching, and does whatever is needed to help his team win. They can expect someone who plays with passion and never backs down from a challenge.

As for what should be expected this upcoming season, Corey plans to bring a stronger, more athletic, and more confident version of himself to the floor. Considering everything he has already accomplished early in his high school career, that should have plenty of people paying close attention.

I assess that Corey is a powerful and versatile young wing whose impact extends far beyond scoring. His ability to dominate the boards, protect the rim, stretch the floor, and contribute in multiple areas makes him a matchup problem on both ends of the floor. The continued growth of his perimeter skills only adds another layer to an already impressive game.

Corey plays with a maturity for such a young player. He embraces physical play, attacks every possession with purpose, and consistently makes winning plays that help his team succeed. His combination of toughness, skill, academics, work ethic, and coachability gives him a foundation for future success.
