Cameron came into this season playing with fire, confidence, and that smooth point guard style that makes everything around him pop. He’s electric off the bounce, slipping into the paint whenever he wants and finishing with a crafty touch that keeps defenders guessing. Add in his ability to drop jaw-dropping dimes, see plays before they happen, and rain threes with ease, and you get a true floor leader who makes the entire offense move with rhythm. And on the other side of the ball, his on-ball defense is fierce. He locks down, pressures the ball, and creates chaos with his quick hands.

His early numbers tell the story. Cameron is shooting 60 percent from the field, scoring 13.15 points per game, hitting a blistering 40 percent from three, and averaging 3 steals per game. In his varsity debut, he exploded for 18 points on 8-12 shooting, including a perfect 6-6 in the second half. Then in game two’s big win, he added 9 points, 4 assists, 4 rebounds, 3 steals, created 2 turnovers, and had zero turnovers himself in under two quarters. A 2-0 start with Cameron in full control of the show.

His biggest improvement this season comes from his improved ball-handling and his leadership. Cameron loves being the loudest voice in the gym, bringing nonstop energy and keeping his teammates locked in. He’s also becoming more patient around the basket, using his strength and size to score and make the right decision. An injury over the summer pushed him to lead from the sideline, and that time made him grow even more as a teammate and competitor.

Cameron plays with heart, passion, and trust- trust in his coach who believes in him, and trust in the players running beside him. His coaches can always count on him to work the hardest, push the pace, challenge his teammates, and build them up with confidence. He’s excited for big rivalry games ahead, and he wants to play aggressive, have fun, and enjoy every step of the journey. And if an opponent starts talking, that only fuels the fire.

When things get tough, Cameron turns to prayer. His faith keeps him steady, gives him strength, and reminds him that tomorrow brings another chance to grow. Off the court, he loves being with his younger siblings, hanging out with his family, watching movies, and sharing hoops moments with his dad and grandpa. That support keeps him grounded and hungry.

He’s already hearing from a few college coaches, but his focus is simple: keep his grades high, keep getting better, and keep lifting the people around him. This is his first real varsity run, and he’s making the most of it with every game.

I assess that Cameron’s ability to attack the paint, score in different ways, boost his teammates, and defend with intensity makes him a guard who can help a college program right away. He brings pace, energy, and unselfish play that raises the level of everyone on the floor.

His game is rising fast. With his work ethic, confidence, and natural feel, Cameron is evolving into a guard who can take over stretches and lead a team with both skill and heart. Expect him to keep growing, keep producing, and keep climbing toward a bright future. Stay tuned.
