Class of 2028

Rock Island HS, IL

The New Threat (TNT)

Da’Nikko plays the game with a speed that you can’t ignore. The second he gets the ball, it’s pressure. Explosive off the bounce with a quick first step, he lives in attack mode and keeps defenders on edge every possession. He’s shifty, creative, and aggressive getting downhill, breaking defenders down, and getting to spots where he can finish or make something happen. There’s no hesitation in his game, just confidence and intent. He plays fast but controlled, and that combination makes him dangerous.

What stands out is how he balances that aggression with efficiency. He’s not just attacking for the sake of it; he’s making plays. A true 3 and D presence, he rains in shots from deep at a strong clip while also locking in defensively and competing on every possession. His handles have taken a major jump, giving him more control, more separation, and more freedom to create. That growth, along with improved shooting, has opened up his entire game and allowed him to impact in multiple ways.

His AAU run with The New Threat has been loud. Averaging 15 points, 5 assists, and 3 rebounds per game, he’s been a consistent playmaker who can score, create, and keep the offense moving. Being named player of the game twice shows how often he’s stepping up when it matters. But beyond the numbers, it’s the energy and heart he brings that keep his team going. Every possession he’s competing, every play he’s looking to make something happen, and that effort shows up across the board.

The biggest improvement in his game has come in his handles, his jump shot, and his leadership. He’s not just focused on getting buckets; he’s focused on becoming a better teammate and someone others can rely on. That shift in mindset is what’s taking him to another level. He’s learning how to lead, how to stay steady, and how to bring others with him.

What fuels him is winning. That’s where his energy comes from, that’s what keeps him pushing, and that’s what drives how he plays. When things get tough, he doesn’t back away from it. He looks inward, challenges himself, and leans on his teammates, trusting the group and staying locked into the bigger goal.

Da’Nikko is building something real with his game. The tools are there, the confidence is growing, and the impact is getting bigger every time he steps on the floor. This is a guard who is only getting started, and the way he’s rising, there’s a lot more coming.

I assess that Da’Nikko is an explosive guard who brings scoring, playmaking, and defensive effort together with a high motor. His ability to attack off the bounce, make shots, and create for others makes him a versatile threat. He plays with heart and competes in a way that impacts winning.

As he continues to grow as a leader and builds on his handles and shooting, Da’Nikko’s game will keep expanding. His aggressive style and improving skill set give him a strong upside. With continued development, he is poised to become a dynamic guard who can control tempo and make plays at the highest level. Stay tuned.
