There’s a different kind of pressure that comes with guarding Cole, and most teams find out the hard way. One second, it’s quiet; the next, it’s a full-on scoring storm you can’t stop. I call him The Microwave, and it fits too perfect. Because once he gets going, it’s instant offense, buckets coming in waves, and defenses scrambling trying to slow something that’s already out of control. Cole brings a dangerous mix of control, scoring instinct, and a team-first mindset that makes him just as effective creating as he is finishing.

At the core of his game is something simple but powerful. He plays hard. Every possession, every minute. It’s not about forcing shots or chasing numbers; it’s about doing what it takes to win. That mindset is what fuels everything. The switch flips when he locks into that one goal, win every time he steps on the court. Once that mindset takes over, the scoring follows. He starts finding seams, getting to spots, and stacking buckets in a hurry. And when he’s rolling, he keeps it going by trusting the work and staying aggressive without losing control.

That ability showed up in a big way at the Grassroots Showcase. In a battle that demanded toughness, Cole delivered 20 points and added 5 rebounds, attacking the defense while still staying active on the boards. He wasn’t just scoring; he was impacting the game in multiple ways and reading the floor, making the right play, keeping his eyes up for teammates, and striking when the moment called for it. That’s what separates him. He doesn’t get lost in the moment; he controls it.

When the game is on the line, there’s no hesitation. No second-guessing. Just a competitor doing everything possible to extend the moment. Late-game situations bring out another level in him, and when that ball leaves his hands, it’s backed by confidence and a mindset built on doing whatever it takes to win.

Then came the state tournament run, where everything hit another level. A 30-6 season for Pickett County wasn’t built by accident, and Cole was a major part of that push, earning All-State honors as a sophomore while averaging 14.8 points per game and finishing with 533 total points. But the real story was how he delivered in big moments all season long.

He opened eyes early with a 27-point performance against York Institute, then kept stacking strong outings with 23 points on the road at Jackson County during a stretch where he strung together three straight 22-plus point games. As the season tightened up, he stayed right there in the fire, dropping 21 against Clay County and following that with 24 at South Pittsburg, proving he could produce in any environment, home or away, no matter the pressure.

And then there was Eagleville. Undefeated at the time and rolling through teams, but that didn’t matter. Cole stepped into that moment and exploded for a season-high 31 points on January 31, 2026, announcing himself in a big way. When the stakes got even higher in the TSSAA Class A State Quarterfinal, he came right back at them with another 23-point performance, showing it wasn’t a one-time flash, it was who he is when the lights are brightest.

Through it all, adversity found its way in. Teams threw junk defenses at him, trying to take him out of rhythm and force the ball out of his hands. Those moments weren’t easy, but they forced him to adjust, to think the game deeper, and to trust the right play instead of forcing his own. That growth showed up as the season went on, and it’s a big reason why his impact kept rising.

Now rolling with the TN Tigers on the AAU circuit, the focus is to keep competing, keep enjoying the game, and keep proving that his scoring ability translates anywhere he steps on the floor. There’s no drop-off in intensity, no change in mindset, just more opportunities to show what he brings.

What coaches are getting is a guard who plays hard every single possession. A competitor who values winning, trusts his teammates, and understands how to impact the game beyond just scoring. But when it’s time to get buckets, The Microwave is always ready.

I assess that Cole is a scoring guard with the ability to take over games in quick bursts, backed by strong effort and a team-first approach. His knack for heating up and delivering in big moments makes him a constant offensive threat. He shows solid awareness by keeping teammates involved while still being aggressive. His experience against defenses designed to slow him down will continue to strengthen his decision-making and overall control.

Looking ahead, Cole has the tools to develop into a high-level scoring guard who can change games with his offensive production. His competitiveness and ability to rise in key moments give him a strong foundation. As he continues to adjust to pressure and expand his overall game, his impact will grow even more.
