Nick averaged 16 points, 5 rebounds, and 1.2 steals per game while shooting a blistering 43% from beyond the arc. He helped lead the Knights to a 21-11 record, earned SWSC All-Conference honors, and played a major role in helping his team reach the Regional Championship game. More important than any statistic was the defensive mindset his team developed throughout the season. Nick credits much of his growth to the defensive focus that became part of Lincoln-Way Central's identity. Learning how to help teammates, communicate, rotate properly, and impact possessions beyond scoring gave him valuable experience that has continued to benefit him during the AAU season. Those lessons helped him become a more complete player and provided an advantage against opponents who may not always understand the value of team defense.

That defensive foundation has carried directly into his AAU season with the Midwest Renegades. The confidence and chemistry within the team have become one of their greatest strengths. At the WI Playmakers Ball Till You Fall Showcase, that confidence was on full display. Nick had a huge 21-point performance in a hard-fought victory over Hoop Habits while creating matchup problems all over the floor. He scored from multiple levels, battled on the boards, and consistently made winning plays when his team needed them most. What stood out most was his confidence. Early mistakes never lingered. In fact, Nick's first three-point attempt of the game resulted in an airball, but he never carried that moment with him. The confidence he has in himself and the belief his teammates have in him allowed him to immediately move forward and continue attacking. That mentality became a major reason the Renegades stayed composed and finished the game strong.

Nick takes the most pride in his shooting ability because it opens up everything else within his game. As someone who is not always the most explosive athlete on the floor, he has worked tirelessly to become a dangerous perimeter threat. His ability to hit shots forces defenders to respect him far beyond the three-point line. Once defenders begin closing out harder, driving lanes open and opportunities to attack the basket become available. That shooting touch has become one of the biggest weapons in his arsenal and a major reason he continues to be such a difficult matchup.

What separates Nick from many players is his understanding of movement and spacing. He constantly evaluates what is happening around him and looks for ways to create advantages. If the offense becomes stagnant, he looks to set screens, cut, relocate, or attack to create movement and energy. He understands that basketball is not always about who has the ball. The injury forced him to miss significant time and tested him physically and mentally. This showcase weekend was only his second week back playing since February. Rather than allowing frustration to consume him, Nick used the experience to strengthen his mindset. The rehabilitation process taught him patience, perseverance, and confidence in his ability to overcome adversity. It reminded him that difficult situations are not reasons to quit but opportunities to grow stronger.

That time away from the court also led to one of the biggest improvements in his game. While sidelined, Nick focused heavily on building strength and adding muscle. The additional strength has already started showing itself on the floor through his physicality, confidence, and ability to handle contact. What could have been viewed as a setback became an opportunity for growth, and he took full advantage of it.

Looking ahead, Nick has no intention of becoming comfortable. His offseason focus is on improving his ball-handling and becoming a more ball-dominant playmaker. He wants to expand his offensive responsibilities and continue developing into a player capable of impacting every possession with the ball in his hands. His goals extend beyond individual development. He wants to continue helping his teams win, continue building confidence, and continue proving that he belongs among the top players in his class.
