Brooks is the kind of guard every coach loves having on the floor because his impact reaches far beyond scoring. His game is built on versatility, patience, decision-making, and the ability to make everyone around him better. Whether he's raining in shots from well beyond the arc, attacking off the bounce, getting all the way to the rim, or creating opportunities for teammates, Brooks constantly puts pressure on defenses in multiple ways. What makes him especially dangerous is that he never seems rushed. He controls tempo, reads situations, identifies mismatches, and understands how to put teammates in positions to succeed. While he has the ability to fill up the scoreboard, his greatest joy comes from moving the basketball, creating quality looks, and making winning plays. Add in his defensive toughness and willingness to compete on every possession, and you get a guard who impacts the game on both ends of the floor.

Brooks' sophomore season at Ravenwood was another important step in his development. He entered his first full varsity season during the summer of 2025 and immediately became part of a program that built momentum under Coach Hooper. That momentum carried Ravenwood all the way to a Region Finals appearance against a talented Brentwood team. Along the way, Brooks continued establishing himself as a reliable presence who understood how to lead and contribute within a winning culture. His production reflected that growth as he shot a blistering 57.1 percent from the field and 44.4 percent from beyond the arc while consistently making smart decisions with the basketball. Those numbers were not simply the result of hot shooting. They were the product of discipline, shot selection, and understanding exactly what the game required in each moment.

Following the high school season, Brooks transitioned back to the Tennessee Tigers for his second AAU season with the program. Surrounded by another strong culture under Coach Chip Smith and Coach Ryley McClaran, he found himself once again playing with talented teammates who shared the same competitive mindset. The transition was smooth because the values between Ravenwood and the Tigers are remarkably similar. Both programs emphasize toughness, accountability, team basketball, and doing whatever is necessary to win. That environment has allowed Brooks to continue growing as a primary guard while enjoying the process and embracing every opportunity that comes with high-level competition.

One of the biggest reasons Brooks has been so effective is his approach to the game. He understands that basketball is filled with highs and lows. Early in the season, he was shooting at an incredibly efficient level before cooling off later in the year. Instead of letting that affect his confidence, he viewed it as part of the learning process. He understands that every player experiences hot streaks and slumps. What matters most is remaining grounded and continuing to help the team however possible. When Brooks is playing at his best, he is creating easy baskets for teammates, knocking down open shots, and making life difficult for opposing guards with relentless defensive pressure.

While his shooting often grabs attention, the areas he takes the most pride in are his decision-making and defense. Brooks wants to make sure his team is always operating from the best possible position. Whether that means calling out a set, identifying a mismatch, creating an advantage, or making the extra pass, he is constantly processing the game and searching for the smartest play available. On the defensive side, he takes pride in making opponents uncomfortable, disrupting rhythm, and forcing difficult possessions. That complete commitment to both sides of the floor is what separates him from many players his age.

The biggest improvements in his game have come through continued physical development and hard work away from the court. As he has gotten stronger and quicker, his confidence has grown as well. His shooting has been outstanding throughout recent AAU tournaments, and his defensive presence has continued to become more noticeable. The combination of increased strength, improved athleticism, and countless hours of work has allowed his game to take another step forward.

Like every player, Brooks has faced adversity. Early in the AAU season, he felt he wasn't helping the team as much as he expected. Instead of making excuses, he took an honest look at himself, evaluated what needed to improve, and locked in mentally. That willingness to self-reflect helped him earn a larger role on a very talented Tennessee Tigers roster. Those moments often reveal the most about a player's character, and Brooks responded exactly the way coaches hope their leaders will respond.

The culture of the Tennessee Tigers has also played a huge role in his development. The program's mentality centers around toughness, accountability, and refusing to feel sorry for yourself. Their philosophy is to figure out what you're doing well, identify what needs improvement, and find ways to help the team win every single game. That mindset mirrors what Brooks experienced at Ravenwood, making the fit feel natural from the beginning. Several moments stand out during his basketball journey so far, including helping Ravenwood reach only the second Regional Championship appearance in school history. Competing and earning wins against multiple shoe circuit programs with the Tigers has also provided memorable experiences, while matching up against talented teams such as the Atlanta Celtics showed him exactly where his game stacks up against elite competition.

Looking ahead, Brooks remains focused on the ultimate goal of winning. Every game presents another opportunity to compete, improve, and help his team succeed. His offseason focus centers around adding new layers to his game while continuing to grow stronger mentally and physically. Coaches can expect a player who values winning above everything else, competes on every possession, embraces responsibility, makes smart decisions, defends with purpose, and consistently puts the team's success ahead of personal recognition.

I assess that Brooks is a highly efficient guard whose value extends far beyond statistics. His ability to control pace, facilitate offense, create quality shots for teammates, and knock down perimeter shots makes him a valuable piece in any system. He processes the game well, rarely forces action, and consistently makes winning decisions. His growth defensively and commitment to impacting both ends of the floor continue to raise his ceiling.

Brooks possesses many of the qualities coaches actively seek in lead guards. He combines shooting touch, basketball IQ, unselfishness, and toughness into a well-rounded package. His maturity and understanding of the game allow him to influence winning in multiple ways. As he continues adding strength, expanding his offensive toolbox, and gaining experience against high-level competition, expect his role and impact to continue growing.
