The Maestro is what I call Trey. He is a crafty combo guard who has elevated his game and scoring impact through this past season. He performed at such a high-level other teams started to face guard or double team. However, he still finished the season averaging 16.3 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 2.8 assists.

The biggest improvement Trey made during AAU is playing point guard. Trey has always liked the 2 guard better but he learned how to play point which will be beneficial going into this season and helped in AAU.

Playing guys from all over the place including some of the best players in his state and holding his own has helped Trey with confidence. He takes this confidence back to his s hook for his senior year. His versatility and competitive edge will be invaluable. He knows he can thrive against the best of the best after facing great talent and being very efficient all summer. One moment Trey would highlight this summer was the last game at Myrtle Beach live period they were in a close game and he was in foul trouble. Trey checked back in and hit 4 or 5 threes which helped the team push the team for a lead and victory.

The biggest challenge Trey will face this season is they don’t have a lot of varsity and experience coming back. He feels it is up to him to be the leader and make sure he can be like a coach on the floor. After watching Trey grow and develop into a more aggressive athlete who thrived at stepping up in clutch moments over the past couple of years , I know he is ready for this challenge going into his final season.

Trey’s goal for his team this year is to make some history and make the state tournament. Trey knows he has one last chance to make it, so that’s the biggest goal of the whole town, while he pursues a personal goal of making the All-State team.

Trey's advice to freshmen coming in would be just to enjoy it. Time goes by quickly. Even if the practices are hard or you don’t like your coach just stay positive and enjoy it all because you only experience high school basketball once.

I assess that Trey is a great fit for a strong D3 or mid-D2 program that knows how to utilize his leadership, shooting ability, and unselfish demeanor to put the team first. He is even willing to reduce his offensive output for the good of the team if needed. Trey excels on the court and in the classroom this gem is going to be a solid contributor anywhere he goes.
